Banking app drives me crazy

I’ve banked with the Halifax for several decades and don’t have a problem with them generally BUT the banking app drives me crazy! I have to uninstall and re-install it nearly every week as it’s constantly getting stuck!! It just sits there buffering and won’t open. 😡

My daughter had a Halifax bank account…

My daughter had a Halifax bank account and then changed to a different bank. I had both her Halifax account and her new account on my Barclays app, sent some money across to her from my bank account and she said that she had not received it,I realised I had sent it to her closed Halifax account. She quickly phoned Halifax and they said as the account was closed it would eventually be returned to me after 10 days.Never happened so she phoned them back they found the money and told her that it would be returned to me in the following 24hours a week later and I’m still waiting, how can a bank keep money that has gone to a non existent account and how hard is it to return it to the person who sent it

Over 15 years and no loyalty returned

We were given a MIP from Halifax in December last year. Sent them everything we needed, paid for the surveyor to inspect the property then heard nothing from them for 2 months. Our advisor worked tirelessly chasing and providing more and more information. The week prior to exchange they revoked the mortgage offer leaving us scrambling for another provider. Luckily our advisor found one however it has meant we're paying an additional £150 per month.

I have banked with Halifax for 15 years both with both an Ultimate Reward account and credit card and must say I am so disappointed. I will be leaving the branch and any of the banks they are linked to after being treated so poorly.

Worse bank Ever

Worse bank ever, hold your money in a so call fraud case, seems like their fraud department is trigger happy. I know the transaction I made and know it wasn’t not fraud but these a words still holding me here after 4 hrs making me feel like a criminal rather then a victim which I’m not. I’m trying to get access to my money now as I need it but clearly they don’t give a poo,

If I know they was Gona keep me here for over 4 hrs I would have brought a toilet bag and my breakfast, lunch and dinner. No water no toilet
Worse than being in a cell at the police station.

If someone said I KNOW THIS TRANSACTION IS LEGIT the trust it is you bunch of trigger happy people.

AVOID HALIFAX

AVOID HALIFAX

I have been trying to transfer my sons ISA to another provider for months, due to Halifax not sending statements etc. I have called countless times, been into branch over 10 times as they refuse to talk to me over the phone, provided the evidence that I am my sons mother COUNTLESS times. Complained, been given a £75 cheque and they are STILL saying they have no signature on account when in the final response letter it states this was done OVER A MONTH AGO!!

Calling the Ombudsman in the morning! (By the way, a colleague in my local branch DID NOT KNOW who the financial ombudsman are yet works in a bank!!) Disgusted is an understatement. If you do anything in life, avoid this laughing stock of a bank.

Another example of deteriorating customer service

I have been with Halifax with over 10 years. Recently I’ve had a number of fraud blocks on my card which have caused great inconvenience. One was for Air BnB and the other Amazon. Both of these are retailers that I had used recently and Amazon I use a lot. When I called up to get this block removed the lady I spoke to was most unhelpful and essentially refused to get it unblocked until they had conducted an ‘investigation’. I said the payments were legit and that I was happy for the payments to go through but she seemed to think that I do not have the final decision about how my money is spent. I escalated a complaint and received a letter today stating that my complaint had been ‘declined’ 😂

I will be closing my account as soon as I can and moving elsewhere.

Loopy bank

Tried to get Halifax to assist with a claim for a u/s Satnav bought with a Halifax credit card. Followed the App instructions and spoke to a difficult to understand operative who told me to use the 'Contact us' system. Did that and after about 1/4 hour was told to ring the number that told me to use this system. Gave up, now looking for new bank.

I put a complaint on here earlier on in…

I put a complaint on here earlier on in the year and had a response to which I was hopeful the issues with my mortgage would be addressed however, someone comments on here to say they apologies and will get a colleague to be in touch and you’re ignored again. Trying to make their social media/internet presence look better than the diabolical state of their customer service. Please do not remortgage with Halifax as it is far more anxiety provoking and stressful than it needs to be.

This bank seems to do everything it can…

This bank seems to do everything it can to make life difficult for customers. I applied to increase my mortgage and was asked about what I wanted to use the increase for. I said that I would like to buy a car and that I may even use it to provide a taxi service. The woman at Halifax said to me that they don't lend for business purposes, so I told her that the main use for the car would be personal and it was just a throwaway remark regarding the business. She said "Well you have already told me that you might use it for business so the mortgage can't be offered". This is despite me having a lot of equity and an excellent credit rating. I have never known a bank so averse to lending money and so obstructive to customers.

Fraud team

Please let me give 1000000 stars to 3 members of the fraud team, Joanne, Jo amd Thomas who helped me today. They deserve a world, so carrying and helpful. As I've been scammed and I called 2 days in a row very distressed they help me go thorough the process with patience, emphaty even if everything was my fault and falling stupidly for the scam, and they solved everything. Thank you angels.

Interest not paid as described. Watch out for their savings account.

I have my savings account with 5.50% interest. The amount in the bank was overall around £1500 over a year but interest paid was absolutely scam. Only received around £10 after a year. When I called the saving accounts department, the savings account team, someone called rakish? refused to explain how the interest rate was so low and proceed to "hang up" on me. I never seen a bank customer service that hangs up on a customer. It was just stupid and unprofessional and I am moving all my investment out of Halifax.

Bereavement Service Inept / Investment…

Bereavement Service Inept / Investment Team Obstructive - No assistance to vulnerable customers with no-one taking any personal responsibility to try and resolve what should be simple requests following a bereavement. My advice - don't plan on dying.

Strongly recommend that you put your money somewhere else, unless you like going round in circles. The most frustrating company i have ever had the miss-fortune to deal with. I'm surprised they will have any customers going by the recent reviews.

Halifax bank refuse to give me a loan ,even for a few thousand pounds to finish the works. I’am discussed With the bank ,and first opportunity, I will transfer all my affairs to a different bank.

The bank blocked my account for no…

The bank blocked my account for no reason. I am deaf but they keep wanting me ring and they keep ringing me. They will not answer messages other than to say telephone them. I cannot even transfer money within my Halifax accounts. I am 82 years old. Steer clear of them if you are old or disabled. They will not help

Would give minus stars if I could

My mother in law banks with Halifax and had an old school bank book for her savings account along with her checking account . Last year they discontinued the bank book and erased ALL the online history of her account history . This has caused problems with her home care assessments. They have lost all of the power of attorney information we gave them . As so many others have said you may as well talk to a brick to get a resolution.

Not a disability friendly bank, bordering on negligntent!

Hello, I suffer from Bilateral Avascular Necrosis of my femoral head (basically my bones are dieing inside my body). It's really painful and leaves me bed ridden at times!

Halifax have frozen all my accounts and I cannot access any of my money until I visit one of their branches with my passport.

Firstly I am in too much pain currently!!

Secondly I don't know where my passport is.

I have spent nearly 2 hours on the phone tonight trying to sort it out, help me

Waste of time!

I recently had a bad experience with a dodgy builder taking money and not completing a job. As payment was done via bank transfer, I was told by an individual in the Halifax scam
Department to raise a complaint about how Halifax do not have adequate consumer warnings in place about consumer protection and bank transfers when you make an online payment, and that I would get my money back that way (as I was unable to get it back via the scam procedure). Halifax took a considerable amount of time to respond to my complaint (over 3 months!) and then when they finally answered they said it should never have been raised as a complaint in the first place and that they would give feedback to the original employee as an resolution. Complete waste of time and they couldn’t seem to understand why I might be irritated at false expectations set and the considerable amount of phone calls I had with them about the complaint.
