No, you just instal Gamespy which is necessary for multiplayer in this game (i don't remember why sorry) but you don't need to create an account on this for play.

The account that you create for play is in the menu of the game !! You don't need any other accounts registration for play...

The EA accounts are for EA forums, IGN what is that ? I don't remember what is this, but you need.

But yes, i understand, the older system of EA crap was boring, even if i'm not a fan of Origin...

use your existing EA account and it will work or an old gamespy one from memory - but you do not need to isntall gamespy / IGN crap.

Run BF2 -> profils gestion -> create profil/account -> accept -> multiplayer and you send your account informations and go !!

Ye, i think it can work like this too.

Well. My existing EA account DOES NOT work.
And creating a new account is impossible. Because it tells me the email has already been used. And when I try to recover my password, it tells me the email has not yet been registered.

Ok, you basicly need register an account in the game with a new email symply. I have nopb for create many account, it's not a problem...

Same i made one for my mrs' pc today, took about 40 seconds in total, entered email, username, password - done

I can't log in either... i tried with my old Gamespy account data and my EA account data without luck. I tried to create a new account but it keeps telling me that the uniquenick is already in use, even if i try with multiple nicks, it keeps saying the same thing...

-_-' Guys are you trolls ? Seriously, i like help for a great game but this is joke, if it's used it's mean the name account is already used by players, and remember BF2 is old (2005) but was one of the most popular fps at this time...

You need to create a new nick name or personalise it a max with letters or something like that, if you want the one used...

A little bit of imagination plz it's not hard common...

i am having this issue too. I was able to play it a couple of months ago but now I try my log in it wont let me play multiplayer and refers to gamespy then when I try to log into game spy it goes to IGN then it is empty.
