We moved from Volusion to BigCommerce…

We moved from Volusion to BigCommerce as we felt Volusion may be out of business soon because they are rapidly loosing market share. WOW is all I can say in how utterly USELESS BigCommerce is as ecommerce platform. You can NOT do ANYTHING without an "APP" Lots and lots of APPs (each @ additional cost) needed to do the most BASIC tasks. WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!!!! Have an issue?? THEN you have to deal with the APP company "its a BC issue" then back to BC "no its an app issue" --- TRUST ME! AVOID THIS NIGHTMARE we are already seeking a new platform. OBVIOUSLY the "Good" reviews of BC are fake -OR- from very uniformed/unexperienced online retailers.

Was with big commerce for 4-5 years with reget

Was with big commerce for 4-5 years . paid a lot of money to google ad to get sales up and as soon as we got busy and sales went 192K the fee went up from 70 USD to 299 USD and then after few months went up to to 399 USD ( for same same 190K sale ) . contacted them saying its too much ,was told I have option to close my site on their platform . I moved to Word Press Woo commerce costing me around 2000 USD for web design and lost some links but at least if my sales goes over 400K. i still pay same few Dollars fee for server . In Big Commerce "Prices" page it says for sales over 400K need to contact them to negotiate the fee. ( no clear amount!!!!) basically they can say any amount and you have to agree or close your site and lose a lot of customers and sales . Advice : from the begining pay someone to get your own website caz you will have to do it later with a bigger cost

online customer service appalling.
Having just trialed and obviously will have a few questions the procedure to even get near customer chat or email is mind blowing.... On this basis I will not be using them SHOPWIRED is streats above but unfortunately there epos intergration choice is v poor

Big Commerce has been billing us wrong…

Big Commerce has been billing us wrong for the last 3 years and we have been calling them and opening up cases for over 2 months. Nobody will help us and nobody is providing us the refund we are entitled to. Very disappointed that a company we trusted is choosing not to do what is right. They are hurting a small family business and not abiding by the contract we signed.

I have been using Big Commerce for at…

I have been using Big Commerce for at least 10 years. The site building tools are very intuitive and simple to use. To me one of the most important features of an ecommerce hosting site is customer service. Big Commerce has FANTASTIC customer service. Anytime I have questions or a problem that has to be resolved I call and speak with a real living human. The customer support reps are very knowledgeable and personable. When you speak to them they actually think and use their intelligence to find a solution for your issue. I highly recommend Big Commerce!

Not fit for purpose - enterprise aspirations with back bedroom ability

One month to find out that a flaw with the checkout was a known issue - 6 months for a fix to a bug that deleted orders even when payments are successful. Now another bug whereby every time an existing product is added to an new category, the URL is changed automatically! Catastrophic for SEO. Our site is now flooded with 404s. BigCommerce is incredibly slow to fix fundamental issues, there is NO visibility of tickets nor of their progress, and account managers simply report that there is no progress, with a virtual shrug of their shoulders. Big clients are restless or leaving for a better platform. There are few that are worse.

I’ve been on bigcommerce for over 6…

I’ve been on bigcommerce for over 6 years and they have been an okay platform to use. I wouldn’t recommend them lately due to many changes they’ve done that affects our stores. At times, you’ll lose server connections, products not showing, or some other issue - moreover, they never notify you about it unless you reach out to support or notice lost in sales. It amazes me on how a company like this can’t manage a website/e-commerce site correctly.

We used BigCommerce for 4 years and…

We used BigCommerce for 4 years and decided to cancel after our billing went from £200 a month to almost £700, they continued taking the wrong amount over months and we were promised a refund. This did not happen. Now we have closed the account, they removed our admin access completely even though there were two weeks paid left in the month. This is causing huge problems and we cannot log in to close app accounts or refund customers.

It's been appalling, we have emailed billing to explain the situation and had no reply for 6 days.

Needless to say migrating away has been the best decision.

Bad service stay away

Bad service stay away

I've been using them for 2 years.
Their customer service don't solve any problem, when you ask them for anything they tell you that they know some professional developers that can help you but you have to pay them. They don't have enough free apps. Their selling channels integration is always down & not working. Like Facebook shop & Google merchant I always have problems that won't ever be fixed that causing to lose money & customers.

SCAMMY AND SHADY

SCAMMY DON'T DO IT!!! BC transcript clearly shows where I requested to cancel the account well before the trial ended. The rep said he would "forward the request to the proper department". My account was not cancelled. Hard to contact on phone. Finally phone rep said same thing "cancellation process" forward to correct department, etc etc SHADY SHADY

We run our store on BigCommerce

We run our store on BigCommerce. It offers a good experience in general. It is pricey once they start charging for extra orders etc. Support generally is good via chat, the ticket system is also ok. Features are not the best, Shopify for instance seems to have more and also has more and better apps. No subscription feature to use, even the apps available to offer subscriptions aren't great. Have considered moving to Shopify and may well do in the future.

Very poor

Very poor. Been a customer for 7 years. Pay them around A$1000+ pm and our website turned off for maintenance. When we contacted them to find out more were advised payment didn’t go through. Credit card had expired and received no notification. Was told they were having internal problems with payment notification. Could have just called me. $10,0000+ per year and just a number

Big Commerce is Years Behind the Competition

Coming from Shopify and Wix, BigCommerce is terribly dated and just not thought out well. Perhaps it’s a robust platform for users ready to dive into the code but simple things like the footer or newsletter text require coding and also recoding after updates. The more we used it the more we hated it. We would sit in on the “big” announcements baffled at all the dates features being announced and how poorly implemented they are.

Been here 4 years and I hate it

Been here 4 years and I hate it! I want to leave every month, The company changes its mind about how to use the platform so often I can't keep up, NOTHING is intuitive here, and as soon as you get used to the changes they change them again, they are currently asking customers to recode the entire store to fit the current changes.

I am not ressigning options on 400 products after JUST finishing the current updates I've made. I'm leaving- Id rather learn to manage an entirely different platform than keep dancing with this company. ITS JOKE.

One star is too much!

One star is too much!

BigDev course is just a joke, full of broken links and misinformation.

Made a complaint 3 months ago asking for my money back and they are still making me go in circles.

This is a joke of a company, their customer service is just poor when you complain about anything. They make you believe that you are being attended to and they are just playing with you and your expectations.

AVOID at all costs, not only the courses but the platform itself.

I have been using Bigcommerce for two…

I have been using Bigcommerce for two years now and all I can tell is that the system itself is stable (no bugs) but the system is very poor in functionalities. Heres why;
- If you upgrade to PRO you can get 12 product filters (who has only 12 product attributes?)
- No language switcher
- Bad product bulk editor
- Bad product search tool
- Bigcommerce helpdesk is terrible
- Marketing channels not working properly

Its good for really small businesses. But if you want more functionalities choose Woocommerce or Shopify.

Taking long time to reslove serius issues.

I'm bigcommerce customer since they start a business.
Now facing very serious TAX Calculation issue on the store that affecting our business a lot, we lost almost $10,000.00AUD but they don't care and saying that tier 2 agent need to check and resolve and it takes 24hr to 3days. that means we have to lose another $10,000AUD during that waiting time. I never ever faced this issue before. Big Comm services getting poor and poor.

Customer service appalling - keep looking

Customer service is appalling however; trying to cancel my subscription. Unable to email support without a special pin; live chat not available Aus time and phone is on constant hold.

Website is fine - a little advanced if you are a novice. Easier sites out there for beginners.

Must be better options out there.....

No Support, Bad Customer Service

They don't have features, everything is chargeable, you cannot install a payment gateway. Customer service is extremely rude, money hungry company. Charging every month for hosting a crappy store, which is good for newbies until they realize what a big mistake they have made.
