The Big Ten Conference was one of the first college athletic conferences to have its own network, and the venture has been a fruitful one.

And while many of the conference's sporting events are on television, sometimes there's just too much going on to make the network.

And that's why there's Big Ten Plus.

Big Ten Plus is a streaming service for for the Big Ten Network, not unlike ESPN+ and Disney+. It's a streaming service that has monthly and annual subscription packages that livestreams many of the conference's sporting events, from men's and women's basketball games to track and field events to field hockey and also other programing.

The streaming service also allows viewers to watch past games, Big Ten Network shows and more.

According to the service, a subscription allows you access to:

  • Livestreaming of more than 1,400 non-televised games
  • Next-day, on-demand archives of both non-televised and televised games
  • On demand access to the Big Ten Network’s video library of past seasons and programming

Is BTN and BTN+ the same?

Previously, BTN+ plus was known as "BTN2Go," which was advertised as Big Ten Network's "TV Everywhere service."

That moved to Fox Sports' streaming platform. Big Ten Network's "direct-to-consumer subscription service" is BTN+.

So there is a connection, but ...

BTN+ does not livestream football games

To livestream football games for cord-cutters, you need to have access to a streaming service such as Fox Sports app, Hulu Live, ESPN+ or whichever network is broadcasting the game. BTN+ does allow access to replay of the football games.
