Edwards began writing romances in 1982 and released her 100th novel, Savage Skies, on August 28, 2007. Although her earlier books were classic historical romances, the vast majority of her novels involve Native American tribes. Edwards's grandmother was a full-blooded Cheyenne. Her first 99 books sold a combined 10 million copies as of August 2007, with her more recent novels averaging sales of 250,000–350,000 copies.

Edwards has won the Romantic Times Lifetime Achievement Award and the Romantic Times Reviewer's Choice Award, as well as being named one of Affaire de Coeur's top ten favorite romance writers. Edwards has a reputation for meticulously researching the proper anthropological backgrounds of each tribe she writes about.

Edwards and her husband Charles, a retired high school biology teacher, have been married for over 50 years. They have two sons, Charles and Brian, and three grandchildren. The family lived in St. Louis, Missouri for over thirty years, but now reside in Mattoon, Illinois.

I've read Cassie Edwards novels some years ago and thought I would listen as part of a challenge read I am doing. Pretty much her writing has not changed in the story. It was just okay for me and as with past novels I've read the intimacy between the characters are quite a bit too sexual oriented. It had its twists and turns but it did not bowl me over.

Reasonably good read although the way the story is written could have been better. I like the plot though and have read this before years and years ago. It took me ages to find the book again as I had forgotten the title but not the storyline. Books by Cassie Edwards all seem to feel the same to me at the end. I guess that's why she is not really one of my favourite authors.
She is trying to flee a flood as well as a madman who wants to marry her. With her sister they end up in a nearby cave and end up with a wounded Sioux warrior. He helps them escape and eventually they become members of his tribe.

Yet another book from the savage series and...yup, it's pretty good.

I mean, on the one hand, it's kind of typical with what I'm becoming used to as Cassie Edwards's style, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable.

This time around, Maddy is our heroine, living with her younger sister, Jaimie, on the Illinois side of the Ohio river. There, she's being relentlessly pursued by Farris Boyd, who desperately wants her hand in marriage. Maddy's affections are taken elsewhere when she meets the injured Black Wolf though, chief of a small Sioux tribe that was forced to relocate from their island home due to a recent flood.

Thus begins what is actually a pretty tame story (only one or two more gruesome descriptions, and these thankfully don't impact the main characters or put them in any danger), of back-and-forth travel, a developing romance, and a lustful obsession that drives the villain mad.

All in a day's work for reading, and a definite re-read in the future. Yup, yup! (Can't think of much more to say about it just now, but maybe I will after a future re-read, who knows?)

My Personal Ranking of the Savage Book Series (so far):

1. Savage Passions (Book 4)
2. Savage Tears (Book 6)
3. Savage Wonder (Book 8)
4. Savage Secrets (Book 3)
5. Savage Glory (Book 31)

**Will update more in later reviews for any additional books I read, as I read them.

This book was a pretty good read. It isn't my usual read but there was some great action to it and a pretty good plot. There was some good character development along with some ups and downs. During the book there were some steamy scenes. Overall it was a pretty good book that I would recommend to someone who enjoys Native American romance.

I'm not a huge fan of Edwards. Her books are all about sex, and I personal don't like that. I have to say though this was one of the better Savage books.

Book 8 of 35 in the Savage series. Not only did I love this book but I read it in one day while at home. So good.
