Our local store in Wilmington

Our local store in Wilmington, NC took out the coffee shop and seating around their store. Not going back. It's pretty clear from the parking lot their demise is on the horizon.

I was checking for two books to buy

I was checking for two books to buy, I google them and google books showed me this website Books-A-Million, so I went and I found the two books, I bought them and they charged me $44.00 to my credit card. Next day they charged me again $26.00 to my credit card for one of the books that I already paid. One day later they charge me again for the second book that I already paid in the first day. So they over charge me twice for the two of the books.... are they legits or scammers, or thieves? maybe the last two.

BEWARE

BEWARE! They are definitely a scam op - I was searching for a very rare book to find and they happened have it coincidentally- for the price it was going for when it was first published in 2007 -around $45.00- it’s in really high demand and I see it going for second hand on eBay $180 - $200 used so yeah -huge 🚩 red flag- that’s why I came here to see if they were legit of not- comments saying a lot so thank you Trust Pilot for saving me money - nearly jumped into that one!

Viera Location

I've found that people who work in bookstores LOVE working in bookstores. Not today. Not this location.

Deceptive company

Deceptive company. They promised 5-7 days shipping but failed to mention on their order page that that would be once they had it in stock. (That little snippet was a footnote on their invoice after they gobbled your money.) No sign of the book yet. Avoid.

Worst customer service

Worse customer service. Received a very damaged book. I won't get a replacement until they receive the damaged book. I didn't want to wait 2 weeks for a book I pre-ordered. So I asked for a partial refund. I sent pictures of the damage. How Long does it take to get a refund? No communication. Makes me not order from them anymore. And they're shipping takes forever.

A featured book signing

A featured book signing, with conservative talk show host Dan Bongino, was held at the Oplika Alabama location was a complete disaster today. Myself and several hundred other patrons drove an hour or more only to find out they were out of books! How in the hell do you advertise for weeks the book signing and run out of books? I’m sure Mr. Bongino was unaware of the problem. Management went out of their way to tell folks you had to “pre-order” once we arrived or we were out of luck. I personally noticed people walking out with 4 or five autographed books ahead of me…if they knew ahead because of the crowd why didn’t they limit the number of books so everyone that showed up could be accommodated? My last trip to Books-A-Million, this is why Amazon is the better option!

Awful..I purchased 2 magazine s with my credit card ..the cashier said I was eligible to receive 3 free magazine s they were not in fact free they used my personal info card number and signed me up for a subscription..When I asked for a refund for my purchase it takes five days to get my money back now my card number is out there and I have to fight to cancel the subscription I didn't approve. My bank and attorney are now involved DO NOT USE YOU CARD THERE CASH ONLY.

Next time it's Amazon again...

I chose to order directly from Books-A-Million instead of Amazon - BIG mistake! I should have read the reviews for BAM before ordering... According to tracking info, the order has been at the shipping facility for 4 days without having being moved! It has been a week so far since order has been placed, and no significant updates. Amazon keeps you in the loop, often offers no shipping/handling cost, and delivers in no time! That's why independent retailers go out of business: insufficient service and lack of communication.

I wish I had read about others…

I wish I had read about others experience before I ordered. Like many others what I have ordered from Books A Million (a figurene for my Grandson) for Christmas was ordered on 12-4-23. I have sent many requests for an update, received only one response saying they would let me know when it shipped.
It is 12-31-23, no requests for update have been answered, no package has been received. I will NEVER order from BAM again. Terrible (AS IN NO) customer service. No item, no idea what is going on or when or even IF I will ever receive my order.
DO NOT order from this company!

Still Waiting

Preordered a book back in May that released August 4th. No notification of a card error until I happened to check my order status on the 3rd of August only to find out my book still hadn't shipped due to said card error. Never would have known this unless I checked it myself. No error email or anything. Updated card info and have been checking tracking since the book shipped, tracking stopped updating 5 days ago and has come to a stand-still and customer service won't answer my email. Not impressed with their online ordering process. I will preorder from Barnes and Noble next time.

If I could give this business thumbs…

If I could give this business thumbs down 👎 had to give a star to leave review. The website showed customer service doesn't close until 7pm Central time. I tried calling at 6pm Eastern they were already closed. After some lady named Sarah transferred me to a closed department. Have tried to reset password 5x still can't access an account that shouldn't be active. So freaking done with these characters

Non existent customer service

Positive: I found two books that I couldn't find anywhere. Negative: They didn't ship my order for about three weeks. I requested a cancellation. I sent two emails, used their form, called their number. I never got a response but they promptly created a shipping label right after my first cancellation request.

Professional, kind and intelligent

Wonderful store with fantastic employees and baristas. I love the Eau Claire BAM because they always have the books I am searching for either in stock or they are shipped to my door in a few days.
Extremely professional, kind, intelligent staff and a very clean bookstore.

Destin Florida clerk CC FRAUD!

One of the clerks at the Destin Florida store in the Commons was playing on her phone while she was ordering a book to be sent to my house. Little did I know she must have been copying my credit card info into her phone because that same day I had hundreds of dollars worth of fraudulent charges on that same card. I’ve emailed their feedback center and I’m going back today. The clerk needs to be fired and should not be able to access customers credit card info at future employers. I am also considering pressing charges.

very slow shipping and hardly any updates….

I ordered 3 books as they had a great buy two get one sale on the 26th of November. I did receive one book fairly quickly and was quite pleased! As for the rest of my order, I waited about 2-3 weeks for any sort of update before I sent an email inquiring about the status. After a few days, my reply was that they can’t tell me how long my order would take or if they’d have to refund me all together. Now, December 27th, book #2 has been shipping for a little over a week and I can’t check the shipping status because the tracking ID doesn’t work. Two days ago I got my first update about book #3; after a month, they have finally ordered my last book from the distributor and will update me when they receive more information.

The price is reasonable, even when they aren’t on sale, but shipping can take quite some time with nearly 0 updates.
