How to borrow from brunel university library

You'll find three issue machines near the main Library entrance - we're using the one with a payment unit, that's the only difference between the machines.

Before we started we changed the theme - there are options available in the start screen, and each machine has a different choice. We chose fish.

First off, select 'Borrow items'.

Now place your Brunel ID card in the reader below the screen. It can go in any way, but needs to touch the base of the reader. Once your card number shows on screen you can remove your card.

Now enter your PIN. If you haven't set one then you can leave this blank, but we do recommend you set one to keep your account secure - you can do this online by logging into your Library account.

Touch 'OK' to enter your details.

On this machine if you have fines on your account it will offer you an option to pay them now. We don't want to do that now, so we'll choose to continue.

Now place the items you want to borrow into the machine. They can all go in together and at the same time, as long as they fit.

The details for everything you're borrowing should show on screen. Check that everything is listed and has gone green - if you take them out before this then you might set off the alarms.

Select 'finish' when everything shows green in the list.

This screen gives you an account summary as well as showing details of everything you just borrowed, including the dates to renew or return by.

You now have an option to print out a receipt, which will give you a reminder about due dates.

The receipt appears just below the borrowing area.
