Enrollment Process

Admission Rules & Pre-Admission Procedures:  Admission to Bucks County Montessori Charter School follows the procedures set forth in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Charter School Law.  BCMCS is a public school open to all students who live in the Commonwealth.  As per the law and our charter, children of the school's Founders are given first priority, followed by Siblings of current students of BCMCS.  Pennsbury residents receive the next priority. Residents of districts outside of Pennsbury are then considered. This is then placed into a list, from a lottery, which the school will utilize for enrollment purposes that is based on openings.

There is an Open House held on the first Thursday of February each year, open to the general public, that affords a visit so as to allow prospective parents to view and learn more about our school, particularly our unique Montessori Pedagogy. During this Open House, there will be material demonstrations performed by the students as well as a presentation of the Montessori Method by the school's Principal.

Bucks County Montessori Charter School does not discriminate any person on the basis of race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, genetic information or any other classification otherwise protected by applicable state and/or federal laws.  In accordance with the McKinney-Vento Action, our host district, the Pennsbury School District, as well as all other districts serviced in the area will immediately enroll a homeless child or unaccompanied youth in school, even if the child or youth lacks records normally required for enrollment, such as previous academic records, medical records, proof of residency or other documentation.  Please contact our homeless liaison, Tony Stango, at (215) 428-6700 ext. 4403  for more information.

Application Process: We are excited to announce that BCMCS has simplified the enrollment application process. Starting in 2020, anyone interested in applying to our school will do so by submitting an application through our Online Enrollment Application Portal. Applicants are to follow through filling out the information and then submitting it. The first day parents may apply for their child (ren)'s enrollment is February 1st for the upcoming school year, with the deadline to apply the last day of such February. Only one application will be accepted per child. Students must be 5 years of age by September 1st for kindergarten, 6 years for grade 1, etc.

Placement on the Lottery Enrollment Wait List: The Lottery will be taken via a random selection from those that applied through the online portal in the order that was explained in the Pre-Admission section. After the lottery (date will be early March and on our calendar) will create the list which the school will use for accepting student(s) for the upcoming school year. This list will be posted on our website immediately after the lottery is held.

Enrollment Acceptance: Acceptance for enrollment typically takes place within a month after the enrollment lottery results are compiled, with parents notified first via phone and email, as well as followed up with a formal letter. If you receive an offer of enrollment you will have seven calendar days to accept and show proof of residency. If your child has not received an acceptance call or letter for enrollment, he/she will remain on the ‘waitlist for that school year.  Our waitlist does not carry over from year to year so you must resubmit a new application each year in order to be entered into that year's lottery.

Registration: Students who have been accepted for enrollment at Bucks County Montessori Charter School for the upcoming school year must have the following documents and information completed and approved by our Administrative Office in person before registration is considered complete.
