This quick presentation will show you exactly how to enroll in Ms. Butler's Moodle course. It will also show you a few tricks for navigating Moodle once you are enrolled. Before you can enroll, you will need to go to the Derry Moodle website. You will notice that the URL for Derry Moodle is in the bottom left corner of every screen. When you type it, there is no www and it ends in .org not .com.
The first step is always to log on to Moodle. Your users name is the same as your computer login for school. It is normally your first initial and your last name. The password is either your student ID number or just the last four numbers of your student ID number. Once you have logged in, under course categories select Middle School to see all the Moodle courses offered here.
Under the Middle School courses, there are sub-categories. Click on MS Foreign Language. The course you need to select from the list is Butler ~ Clase de Espanol.
Before it will allow you to enroll, you need to enter the enrollment key, which is entra all lowercase. E-N-T-R-A. Than click ‘Enroll me in this course’
You do not have to go through all these steps in the future. Finding the course and entering the enrollment key is a one time event. You always start by log in to Moodle and you will get a list of the courses you are enrolled in on the left. Click on that course name to go directly to the course. If you need to enroll in additional courses, select ‘All courses’ to see the list of options.
A topic is a set of information within Moodle. There are two ways to view topics – all at once or one at a time. In the top right corner of the topics, you will notice either single or double boxes. The single box tells you all topics are visible. Beware: there are 52 total topics, so you could scroll for a long time. If you click the single box, you get the double box. The double box will show the top topic (which is always visible) and one topic. To change which topic you can see, use the drop down menu that says ‘Jump to…’ It is your choice which navigation style you like.
