I thought motormouth car reviews on YouTube was decent and fell for his pitch about better deal using his promo code at Carcostcanada get a new car at dealer invoice pricing. I am totally scammed. Their so-called invoice pricing $3849 more than what was listed from ford.ca for 2021 Ford Edge SEL. These scammers thinks rest of us buried our head in sands.
Useless information. Looking to buy a ford mustang gt premium and its telling me that an msrp vehicle of 64 grand cost the dealership 58 grand and yet the same dealership and all other dealerships selling the same model are selling them for low 50s all of a sudden this month. If this thing told me that these dealers are capable of losing thousands of dollars on vehicles then i wouldnt have bought my vehicle thinking im paying close to cost when in reality its nowhere near their cost. Complete waste of time. Dont trust this information.
(1) I'm not a member. I just tried the intro' car cost data complimentary quotation on a new car.
(2) All I received for my first search was the dealer's car cost/price set by Toyota Canada. I expected the "best" possible price for the customer on your trial / sample response. Obviously that is totally unsatisfactory.
(3) I logged on to CCC online and spoke to no one, it's impossible to rate your customer service agents communications.

Avoid CarCostCanada
I used CarCostCanada to research a vehicle purchase about 8 years ago and found the service useful. When I tried it again this past month the experience was very poor. First, it is true what others are saying that as soon as you sign-up and save a cost report you will receive multiple emails and texts from local car dealerships that are also paying CarCostCanada for leads. The message are automated and frequent. I ended up having to mark the dealership emial domain as spam because blocking one email was not enough; they used multiples.
Even more troubling, however, is that the quality of cost information is very poor. My impression is that it is not cost information at all. The pricing I received on the CarCostCanada report showed that the dealer purchase cost was "higher" than the "selling" price. And, both prices were higher than what the dealer actually showed me after a test drive. I thought for sure there must be a mistake so I compared the report and the dealer's provided spec sheet line by line and every option was identical. The site didn't provide accurate cost information.
I did report my concerns to the company and received an email saying they would let me know when they had cost information available. Seems odd - carCOSTcanada? If you don't have costs for a car, why not just say so? Is providing the lead to the dealership more important than providing the information to customers that they have paid for?
I am concerned the business model of the site may have degenerated into email harvesting only.

Used CCC for over a decade, last experience poor
I've been using CCC for over a decade, to purchase a half dozen cars. I am what they call a "lifetime" member. This most recent experience was very disappointing.
I tried out the concierge service to see if they could get a better deal than I was able to on a new Jeep. I forked over the fee and waited.
No response after a few weeks, so I emailed for an update. I was told it was coming, "sorry for the mix up".
Waited another week, asked again, no response. So, I started looking for a car deal myself.
Asked CCC again for an update and finally they realized they had sent the report to the wrong email address over a month ago. Well that car was sold and gone, it was the wrong trim anyway, and in the meantime I just went ahead and bought a car by myself.
Total waste of time and money, very disappointing, I was hoping the concierge service would be something I could rely on in the future but now I see it's just a disorganized mess. What a shame, the concept was good.
Two stars because of my previous good experiences but otherwise, I WOULD SAY AVOID.
EDIT: Regarding the reply below, I emailed CCC multiple times as stated above, from the correct email address, and my personal email address on my profile WAS up-to-date. It's a sad excuse to say the situation is the customer's fault. Never at any point did I communicate from that old email address with CCC for this transaction. If their system is broken or buggy, that's not my problem.
Rating reduced to one star.

After printing a carcostcanada report
After printing a carcostcanada report on a Ford Maverick received a call from the recommended dealer from CCC. Calculated a counter offer after receiving the dealer’s offer, only to find out that the dealer in question has not been considering CCC pricing for the last 2 years. This experience has been a total and useless waste of time and gas by trying to negotiate a better price for the Maverick at the CarCostCanada recommended dealer.

Have Not yet completed a transaction but so far I am pretty disappointed. It took a very long time to get an incomplete answer. The price range given is higher than that of a dealer I contacted (about 700$l). I don't get it....

Double dip! Reports should be free!
You pay to get the dealer invoice price then they sales your information to a near by dealer! Double dip!!! No option to opt-out of the dealer sharing.
The report should be free or offert the option to not share our information to the dealer!!!!
I will probably never use again and definitely not recommend it!!

Looks like BS to me...
Looks like BS to me...
At the time of research, I looked up Acura MDX 2020 on carcostcanada and got the base model listed for $54,390. Then, I googled the same thing and the acura dealership came up CHEAPER, listed at $52.965 on their website, meaning you can probably haggle the price down even more...
I thought the whole point of carcostcanada site was to give you the lowest possible price the dealer would be able to give so that you know if you are getting ripped off or not. Useless

I have been a member of Carcost for a…
I have been a member of Carcost for a long time.I have purchased many vehicles(my wife, daughters and myself)We have saved a minimum of $3000.00 up to $9000.00 on vehicles ranging from a compact 4 dr sedans,minivans,2 dr sedan and a subcompact convertible.Over time it appears as if Carcost has become more involved with(perhaps financially as well)with dealers.Does not seem to be an arms length relationship any longer.I would prefer not to have my name and personal info passed onto a dealer when I am researching a vehicle, but in order to get the "Buy Now Price" you have to.Reason for 4 star vs 5 star rating. Did not used to be like this. You would get your report, decide what you wanted to pay,go to almost any dealer(they would usually be receptive if you had report in hand) and do the deal.Have never played one dealer against another because I did not need to and I was comfortable with price I offered.Takes haggling out of it.Like the service alot but deals of the past are no longer as good as they were. Will continue to use service. The people at Carcost Canada are helpful.

No deal turned into a deal
The dealership I visited had not seen a Car Cost Canada worksheet. They were unwilling to complete it.
I’ve used this a few years ago and had no problem.
Car Cost Canada has since contacted the dealer and I’ve purchased a vehicle.
