Add A Business To Citysearch

Local Business Citation Service Done-For-You.
100% manually submitted with a full submission report.

Local Citations are multiple consistent mentions of your business information on website directories and other properties found on the internet. Search engines like Google use these mentions as a trust signal and consistent NAP citations of your business will help you to rank within local Google search results.

This is a submission only service with downloadable submission report. We create a new email address used for all citation submissions. Service is limited to 100 citations max per business address. You’ll be provided with any login information for each business citation.

Managing a Business Profile on Citysearch

Citysearch is a mainstay in the world of local search, and has undergone a few facelifts over the years. The latest carnation allows businesses to create and curate profiles at no charge, and does not grant premium placement for paid listings. This means there’s no way to buy your way to the top—a concept many consumers and thrifty business owners find refreshing in an era of paid listings.

If you own a small business you may already have a listing on CitySearch, even if you didn’t create it. The only way to find out is to search for your company. If a profile pops up, click on the “Own this Business?” link to take over the helm. If there is no page yet, you’ll need to e-mail parent company Citygrid with your business details, and they will create a page for you. There’s no online page setup anymore, so you’ll need to go through an actual human being.

Be forewarned: you may be “scouted.” Along with their newest format, Citysearch unveiled the addition of expert scouts who sample local businesses and then offer recommendations. These are short summaries rather than lengthy reviews—in fact, Citysearch has done away with the term “review” altogether in favor of  “tips,” which are brief snippets from scouts and users. Users can also vote your business up or down. Like Yelp, ratings and opinions are at the heart of the Citysearch model.

Citysearch has a clean, straightforward look that leaves little room for self-promotion. You can, however, purchase ads with Citygrid that will appear on Citysearch as well as sister websites such as Yellowbook, City.com, Ask.com and Urbanspoon. While these ads have no bearing on your Citysearch profile page or ranking, they can offer higher visibility on the site.

Ad space aside, local businesses can gain ample exposure with a free Citysearch profile, and from a marketing standpoint it makes sense to get involved with the site.
