Canadian Tire Financial Services (CTFS) Not Accessible?

Anyone else unable to access their CTFS account either via the CTFS website or the phone app? I have a statement to download but I've been getting "This site can’t be reached" and "Oops. System Unavailable" yesterday and now again today.

My CT credit cards are working at stores, but it frustrates me to be "blind" in terms of reconciling my accounts.

NOTE: I'm talking about the credit card services. The Triangle Rewards side of things seems to be working fine.

I finally called CTFS. They said they're having regional server issues so it's only effecting certain pockets of users.

I've had problems accessing their site early in the morning several days this week. Was able to get in later in the day. Perhaps they have a load balancing problem between servers.

After 5 days I am still unable to get in to ctfs via web or the triangle app on my phone - I'm in Windsor, ON.

I checked the "isitupordown" site and it says everything is fine at ctfs.com.

So I tried logging in using a vpn with a US IP address and I am able to login and use the ctfs site with no problems. Tried again using my normal IP and nothing works.

Strange.

Their web application firewall is blocking some legitimate requests, been having the same issue on Chrome specifically.

Once I put on Firefox it worked, also Safari iOS worked, as well as mobile app.

Strange.

That's extremely strange because normally it would be the other way around as some companies block VPN IP addresses (with certain IP addresses given to me by my VPN provider, I've had problems with Fitbit, Yelp, CreditKarma, etc.)

Only have issues when try to access via vpn... sometimes works on vpn, sometmes not.

No vpn, so far worked everytime.

2022/3: BOC raised 10 times and MCAP raised its prime next day.
2017,2018: BOC raised rates 5 times and MCAP raised its prime next day each time.
2020: BOC dropped rates 3 times and MCAP waited to drop its prime to include all 3 drops.

I found it strange as well but using the US IP address was the only way to login for at least 10 days at CTFS. It was fixed the other day and now I can login from home again.

Update: the CTFS site is currently not accessible through Telus Smart Hub (LTE home service). I'm able to access it through Xplornet (our secondary ISP - yes, we have two) and through Koodo mobile LTE.

This seems to be a recurring issue, probably because of incorrectly applied IP blocking. The CTFS team doesn't seem to know what it's doing.

Their answer when you checked can't be valid as this has been happening to me every month for the last 3 months. THEY know how to fix it, but their methods never work for me. Terrible site!

This is 2022, and their web site is still broken. They seem to randomly block some IP address. This is a sign their security team is fairly incompetent.

It took me 2 hours to figure out how to log back in to my account. Their contact page is also blocked so I can't find their phone number easily.

I'm taking my money out from their saving account asap. It's not worth it for their 1.25% interest rate.

Happened to me over the past few days in Toronto. Switched the VPN to Montreal and got straight in.

You were right, my account was locked because I pre-paid $10k (in anticipation of property taxes due next month) and they thought it was a mistake/fraud. They said it was highly unusual so they lowered my limits to $100 and blocked my access. Talk about backfiring lol
