HOUSTON, TX (March 10, 2022) — Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union (Cy-Fair FCU) announced today that they have executed a merger agreement with Prairie View Federal Credit Union (PVFCU) in Waller County. The arrangement brings the $3 million PVFCU into the $340 million CFFCU organization.
With an effective date of March 1, 2022, PVFCU members and Prairie View residents will soon see updated signage showing “Prairie View FCU, a division of Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union.”
“It was very important to the boards and leadership of both credit unions to preserve the history and community connection that Prairie View FCU has cultivated over its nearly 85 years of operation,” said Cameron Dickey, President/CEO of Cy-Fair FCU. “Too many credit union stories have disappeared over the last 20 years through credit union mergers. Through this unique agreement, we intend to write new chapters in the story of Prairie View FCU and the Prairie View community in the years ahead.”
The merger will extend the footprint of Cy-Fair FCU’s four Cypress-area service locations and PVFCU members will now have access to CFFCU’s nationwide ATM network, 5,000 shared branching locations, and more competitive loan and deposit rates.
Additionally, due to its size and large membership base, the award-winning Cy-Fair FCU will provide increased convenience and broader digital services for Prairie View University staff, students, and community residents through the PVFCU Financial Center. This includes online and mobile banking, 24/7 mobile deposits of checks on smart phones and tablets, and a new ATM to increase day and night account access at the Prairie View service location when it’s installed.

Prairie View FCU was founded in 1937 by employees of Prairie View University and residents of the surrounding community.
