Direct general auto insurance policies can be managed 24/7 online via the website. Features include the ability to update/make changes to your policy (such as adding another driver or vehicle), set up recurring forms of payment, view and print various policy details, etc. Payments can also be managed via the iOS/Android mobile app (download links at the top of the page). One-time payments do not require policyholders to sign in to their online account. Follow the steps listed out in the how-to guides below to learn how to sign in to your account/register a new one, reset your password, or file a claim.
How to Log In
Step 1 – Begin by going to the homepage (click the login link at the top of this page, or go to www.directgeneral.com).
Step 2 – Once on the homepage, click the ‘Your Account’ link. You will be taken to the secure login page.
Step 3 – Enter your user ID and password into the input fields and click ‘Logon’ to access your account.
Forgot Password – If you do not know your account password, press the ‘Login Help’ link on the main login page, and then select ‘I forgot my password.’ Enter your user ID and click ‘Continue’ to move to the next step of the reset process. Follow the on-screen instructions to have your password reset.
Enroll in Online Access
Step 1 – On the homepage, hover over the ‘Your Account’ link, and then press ‘Register.’
Step 2 – Enter your policy number, first/last name, user ID, password, email address, and security question. Press ‘Continue’ and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the account creation process.
Make a Claim
Step 1 – Call 1-877-463-4732. The claims phone line is open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, and on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
