Requires driver's license to redeem points

erewards used to be a great survey website, offering a solid experience and easy way to accumulate/redeem points. They reconfigured the point accumulation system a couple months ago which significantly diminished the earning potential. Now they're requiring users to send images of driver's license to a 3rd party called Veriff before they will "unlock" your account. Otherwise you forfeit all earning and account is closed. This happens suddenly and out of nowhere. I've been a consistent user of erewards for close to 8 years and never had a problem redeem points until out of nowhere, my account was locked.

Do not allow your points to accrue. You will eventually be locked out and forfeit all earnings that you worked so hard for.

Should be able to give negative stars

Had been a member of this survey company for years. Tonight, I tried to redeem some points for a $10 Amazon gift card. They required me to submit a picture of a government ID to Veriff.... a company is Estonia!!! I can't believe there are fools out there who will give their personal information to somebody in Estonia! I just unsubsribed from the survey emails.
- It would be interesting to know how many fools out there will go along with giving their personal information out to potential scammers.
They are ruining what used to be a good thing.

Used to be good

I had previously rated e rewards very highly, having tried a number of survey sites and kept careful statistics that indicated I averaged over $3 an hour in actual money on their site.

Those days are gone. The company has since reduced its payout for surveys that you try but don't qualify for, plus reduced the number of times you can collect on that in a day. In addition, it seems the number of times that I fail to qualify for surveys, even after answering quite a number of questions, has increased. I just spent two hours online trying to take surveys, including one on financial services in which I answered over 25 questions before they said I didn't qualify. If I answered 25 questions, I took a survey and I deserve to be paid.

My total compensation for my 2 hours: $2 in their currency, less than 70 cents an actual money. I no longer recommend you devote any time to e rewards.

Reputable Survey Company

I have been taking surveys for many years and receive partial credit for surveys for which I am not qualified, and full credit for surveys which I have completed. I have had had no issues redeeming points for rewards, and the time estimated for the surveys is comparable to the time spent taking them.

The REAL e-rewards website opinion rating ! ...

They change your rating and post on a different platform within the Trustpilot website. So now I believe it may be that you cannot 'trust' Trustpilot! Shameful!
How can the same survey site have a ranking of 1.7 and also the site spelled without a hyphen be ranked 4.0? Very dubious, highly questionable, & misleading!

Passport control please

In order to "protect you" you have to share all your personal details with them through some third party companies.. last time using them.

As with others

As with others, I have now been locked out of my account and have apparently lost 1500 dollars in survey points. This is because I refuse to take a photo of myself and also my drivers license and submit these online to a third party identity verification company. I've done these surveys for years and have no issues with text verification, 2 party identification etc, but submitting sensitive personal information to a third party company for this? Seems illegitimate and foolish. Also, this change was enacted with no notification to panel members, which is apparently allowed according to their fine print. Something smells fishy.

Impossible to redeem rewards

Impossible to redeem rewards. An error message comes up saying 'redemption_error_message_rfp'. I've tried 2 different browsers and have the latest Javascript installed. I emailed support twice with no reply. Awful company.

AVOID!

After being a member for many years with just the occasional payment issue, my account is now frozen until I supply a passport or driving licence copy plus a selfie through a 3rd party website link. Reading these reviews, I am obviously not alone in this.
What is going on? After complaining I was told I could close my account. No mention of the outstanding points that will be lost.
Unethical and definitely dodgy.

I have been using the e-rewards site…

I have been using the e-rewards site for a little over a year. As others have said sometimes it was frustrating answering a LOT of questions only to be told you don't qualify. But what I don't like now is that they want an I.D. to verify my account. Why? If I filled out the surveys I should be able to get the gift card. I don't know why I would need an I.D. for this. Disappointed.

You won't get rich doing e-rewards

Log on, answer a load of qualifying questions only to be told that you are not eligible for the survey. On the rare occasions that you are allowed to do a survey you get asked hundreds of tedious questions about your favourite washing powder. Your reward is a few miserable points.

I have been a member for 15+ years but…

I have been a member for 15+ years but in the past month they would not let me cash out without sending my personal ID to a random company who themselves have complaints against them and low ratings. Why do they all of a sudden need my photo ID for magazines and gift cards? This is very shady that they are setting their members up for potential identity theft!!And if you try to inquire with any questions, they send you generic computer responses.I have gotten the same exact response except a different name at the end if the message..weird.I complained to the BBB and Erewards never responded and point blank closed my account with $170+ points. My advise..PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THIS SURVEY SITE..IT IS POSSIBLE YOU MAY GET YOUR IDENTITY STOLEN!!

So here is the low down,10 year vet

So here is the low down,10 year vet , E-Rewards has went through TWO companies and now are Dynata, you must be INVITED to join. Unfortunately they have changed some things. You used to get 25 cents if you didnt qualify..now you get 2.. :0(
They didnt keep up with many gift card rates meaning if a company up'd there cost your gift stayed the same but for more reward money, this was disappointing. You will get survey Screwed every once in a while .. you fill out the entire survey only to be told you dont qualify.. Survey company gets what they want for free.. They are legit but NO where near as good as they once were.

Shady, scammy and getting worse

Has always been shady and became an outright scam in the past month or so. Very often, I will complete anywhere from 50 to 100% of a survey only to suddenly be told that I do not qualify for the full survey, the opportunity expired or something equally questionable. First 5 screenouts within 24 hours pay 20 e-rewards cents, then 0. E-rewards of course claims that in these cases the data is not given to the partners but offers no hard proof and I am not inclined to trust them at their word.
The pay rate is an insult. Even if you get a survey that pays a seemingly reasonable rate of twenty e-rewards cents per minute (and these are becoming increasingly rare), gift cards cost three times their face value in e-rewards bucks so instead of $12/hour, we are getting paid $4/hour and really, even less than that when taking into account the frequent screenouts, the potential waiting for surveys and the fact that the purchasing power of a merchant specific gift card is not equal to that of a US dollar.
Even worse, e-rewards just posted a notice that users may need to verify their identity by providing a copy of a government ID and a selfie to continue cashing out rewards and I definitely will not be providing that information. I pretty much intend to stop using this site in the immediate future even if I do not find a less shady alternative.

E-Rewards / Parent company is Dynata

Parent company is Dynata. They refuse to allow me to redeem 43 dollars in rewards for a best buy gift card. They want copies of your personal govt issued i.d....way too invasive. Most times they got your opinions and replies...then booted you out. Now they refuse to honor rewards. Sneaky and slimy!

Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I was offered an online session, but was only paid 2/3rd of the advertised reward despite completing everything correctly. Kicked out of most surveys (even after finishing them to 100%), customer service don't care, and will ban you if you complain. I'd advise staying away from this terrible company.

Won't be using them anymore

Have been with e-Rewards for a long time and have used the points for Avios which has been great (actually paid for flights to New York!), however I have had no surveys come through for the last 2 weeks, they just suddenly stopped, no communication from them or anything either. I contacted them about it and have been told this 'We would be happy to assist you in reactivating your account. Keeping your account information safe and secure is extremely important to us, which is why we’ve partnered with Veriff, a global verification system. You will be asked to confirm your identity through Veriff by uploading a valid government-issued ID and a photo of yourself. Once this is successfully done, please reply to this email so we can activate your account for you'. I cant believe it, is it some kind of joke?! Government ID to do surveys?! I think not! I will be switching to another platform now. Gooodbye e-rewards.
