eBay sellers trying to print SCAN forms for bulk shipping labels were redirected to a login page for a roofing company this week. An eBay moderator acknowledged the issue when sellers reported the problem on the eBay discussion boards, but we could not find any announcement or follow-up about the issue.
We became aware of the problem after watching a video on The Auction Professor YouTube channel on Tuesday. It showed what happened when the Auction Professor clicked to print the SCAN form on eBay - he was redirected to a page on ContractorSolutions.com that displays a login for RoofUS Leaderboard.
It's unclear how eBay might be related to Contractor Solutions, whose homepage explains, "ConSol assists you to procure and manage panels of service providers and contractors, simplify service delivery and improve business process management." The website is co-branded Yarris, and on the page to sign up as a supplier on ContractorSolutions.com, it states, "You may receive emails from admin@yarris.com." Yarrris's homepage describes itself as a "Centralised collaboration platforms to streamline the complex workflows between enterprises and their service providers."
The next day, a seller posted a thread on the eBay discussion boards titled, "Bulk Shipping Label Scan Sheet Won't Print - redirects to RoofUS Leaderboard."
In another thread on the eBay boards describing the problem (titled, "Bulk Shipping: Redirected to a roofing website trying to print a scan sheet?!" an eBay moderator responded, writing on Wednesday at 11:35 am Eastern:
"Thank you for tagging me. Confirming our teams are aware of the issue and are working to resolve as soon as possible. Will confirm once we have resolution. Apologies for any inconvenience the issue has caused."
The moderators who responded to sellers on the two threads had not returned to provide an update on the issue by Wednesday evening.
Update 1/27/2022: eBay posted the following message on the eBay discussion boards on Tuesday evening again acknowledging the problem but not explaining the cause:
USPS bulk shipping label SCAN forms error
01-26-2022 05:59 PM
eBay is taking steps to protect sellers impacted by the issue:
On Jan 25th and 26th when some sellers tried to print USPS bulk shipping SCAN forms from the bulk shipping option in Seller Hub, a pop-up directed them to a non-eBay site in error. The cause of this issue has now been identified and resolved, and we will work to ensure this issue does not happen again in the future. Please note, no customer data was compromised during this issue.
We will protect sellers who may have been impacted by the bulk scan form issue. If you believe your on-time shipping metric was impacted by the issue, please contact us and we’ll make it right.
We apologize for any inconvenience or disruption to your business.

This is why I went to third party shipping app in the first place. At the time the lack of a SCAN sheet, and ebay penalizing sellers for not having all of their packages scanned on drop off. That 8 or 12 hour difference of when you drop them off and are scanned they were penalizing sellers for. At the same time they could not generate a scan sheet from ebay shipping labels. Postal clerks at the office were not going to scan and weigh 50 packages at the office with 8-10 customers waiting in line.
Typical lazy ass new generation corporation. Far away are we from the country that landed a man on the moon.

There is only one plausible explanation: eBay was hacked. Again.

If your shipping from eBay, labels and Scan sheets come from the Pitney Bowes postage platform, and there programming is less brilliant than eBays.
