Good service

Easy to use Equifax and see your credit report and history, unlike ClearScore it does require a monthly payment to use their services, but still a good service

Subscription paywall

Whilst I do think it’s a great site to be able to check my financial situation, I don’t agree with having to pay a subscription fee each month for additional features. Thankfully Totally Money is free and pretty much has everything I need with live updates.

Customer service agents are helpful but info all wrong!

Customer service agents are helpful but Equifax hold lots of wrong information surrounding addresses and it is a total nightmare trying to get them rectified. Transunion and Experian have my correct address but Equifax has the wrong flat number and the irony is that it wasn't on their system and my wife had to call them to get it loaded on so she could set up accounts as we are going through a mortgage application. Is it the Equifax AI system that is to blame for the wrong address being peppered throughout my account or is it a lazy agent. If an address is wrong, correct it the whole way through the file! Sick of this company, but I'll need to call yet again as it won't let me log it online.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us some comments.

I've been unable to see within our system that you've contacted us about the issues you're facing.

If you believe some of the information on your report to be incorrect. This information is supplied to us by your provider and we can help you correct the information by using the data dispute process. As we don't own the data, we'll manage the dispute with the data supplier on your behalf. Once the dispute has been raised, the company has 21 days to respond to it. While this is happening, we'll add a note to your Equifax Credit Report so that any organisations looking at it are aware that the information is under dispute. If you prefer, you can get in touch with the company directly and ask for changes to be made at the earliest opportunity. If you are successful, you can ask the company to ensure records are updated at Equifax and any other Credit Reference Agencies as soon as possible.

Please feel free to get in touch with us using our Online Help page, we are keen to assist in any way we can.

PLEASE THINK BEFORE AGREEING TO THE 'FREE' TRIAL

Was happy to take the free trial, i tried to cancel a few times eventually successful on the 10th March which evidentally was 1 day late.

Phoned up and the woman was rather rude. Asked for a pro rata refund and she refused and said we can auto debit your card as long as we like (which isnt strictly true)

Ill take this on the chin but anyone considering using them as I did to try and improve my credit just dont do it.

Harder to read and understand than…

Harder to read and understand than others. People, like me, are led to believe they need to check their credit rating and, in doing so, have to give payment information. As I say harder to understand what everything means and then you have to make sure you cancel your payment

Ms.Amanda Donovan's reply .

Ms.Amanda Donovan's reply as follows:
I understand you wanted the accounts with 02 removed as you stated they were fraudulently opened. I can see from our records that the accounts in question are no longer showing on your credit report, this could be a result of you contacting 02 directly and they investigated this internally.

If you dispute a fraudulent transaction…You credit file is mark as a missed payment.

If you dispute a fraudulent transaction on a Nationwide credit card Nationwide will mark your account as “Q” (query) they then pass this information to Equifax who interpret it as a missed payment.

Nationwide say it’s not their problem as Equifax have got the information wrong. Equifax say Nationwide are the data holders and it’s their problem. Nationwide appalling customer service won’t help. Each company blame each other while the customer gets a negative credit score mark on their report.

Nationwide are giving false information to Equifax and this is negatively effecting peoples credit score. Nationwide refuse to admit that their data sent to Equifax is their problem.

Been trying to get into my account

Been trying to get into my account
Tired new passwords as instructed
Works fine for one log in
Then rejects the same information the next time
Very time consuming to do such an easy task
Should have a direct email so you can just email directly with your problems
Tried new passwords etc no no avail
A real pain
Easy solution - an email address you can use in the Uk that gets you straight to customer servo UK

Your Staff- Especially David M.

Your Staff- Especially David M.
What Trust Pilot should note is that most Companies are trying to save money and as such let the computer @ & now AI do the talking. If one can finally get through and have a conversation using your voice & the human at the other end uses there’s then the problem gets solved.
As a point I wanted a few weeks ago to speak to Trust Pilot itself but I couldn’t get through. Maybe they should speak to David M at Equifax.

My point of comparison is experian

My point of comparison is experian. I log in to that I get lots of useful advice about improving my score, and the ability to view more different types of personal infomation, for example a link to my bank accounts. Equifax seems more limited in what they can be told. (Also they give me a lower normalised score, so I've got an ulterior motive to dissent :-) ).

Dear Mr Carter,

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. At Equifax, we want to make sure our users are front and centre of our thoughts when improving our service. I will pass your feedback to our product team. In this instance, it seems our service did not quite measure up to your expectations.

It is important to understand that there is no universal score in the UK used by all lenders and CRAs (credit reference agencies). Therefore it is not possible to directly compare the different CRA scores as each company has its own scoring model.

You can find information about improving your score by visiting Online Help and using our FAQ's, alternatively we'd be delighted if you wished to give us a call so that we could discuss this with you.

Thanks again for the review and if ever you have any questions about how our features can help you further, please feel free to contact using Online Help.

Unnecessary Expensive credit rating

I was unable to onboard. Company expect GBP 14.95 commitment with Card to be compulsory paid after free period. The Credit card providers company like Banks , using their services, should pay instead by individuals. Other credit report service provider allow onboard without any charges and are very effective with their Scores. You can not access or get free individual credit report from Equifax unlike other service provider Experian, Clear score or Totally money etc

Thanks

Hi Pradeep,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback.

When subscribing to one of our products, you agree that we have continuing authority to take the agreed regular payment from your credit or debit card for the Product(s) you have purchased on a subscription basis until you or we cancel your subscription before the free trial ends or during the subscription period.

It may be helpful to make you aware that Equifax does not charge you for access to your credit report information, this is completely free of charge and you can access it online or have it delivered to you in the post.

We do offer some subscription products, but even these are available with a free 30-day trial period, so that you may use the time to decide whether you feel the features represent value for money. When you sign up to a subscription your first 30 days' access to this service will be free but there would have been monthly charges after this, unless you cancelled the service within the correct timeframe. These terms are set out during the online sign up process and on our service activation emails.

If we can help clarify anything about our services, we'd be delighted if you gave us a call so that we could discuss with you. Please be sure to explain your issue as Trust Pilot comments are not linked to Equifax systems.
