You probably forgot to link your eso account to your steam account creating and activating the eso account key verification isn't enough you need to link it to steam afterwards.

I never got any email or in game pop up saying link account tho :(

I'm almost 100% sure it has to do with your eso account not being verified with the activation code when you registered the mail probably didn't pop up in your mail and you had to click that to activate it and had to be done in 3 days.

Then you can link the account to steam once that is done from the eso webside or before you login into your eso webside account there should be a steam tab there.

You can login still in the eso account if you haven't followed or got the above but you can't link it to steam and so can't login from the launcher.

Try making a new eso account and do it this time.I also used my steam mail for the eso account creation not sure if that plays any role when you link it to steam later probably not but you never know.

When i created the ESO account i got an email saying activate account i clicked the link and it said successful

Yeah but then you would have need to link it to steam afterwards.

That just confirmed the eso account not linked it to steam by default afaik at least didn't do when I've created mine.

Well I have the same problem, I can't connect Steam with Elder Scrolls account because "I don't have it". I don't have an in-game checkbox about "already existing ESO account". Very frustrating issue.

Try the repair option from the eso launcher not verifing through steam if you don't want a new download.
If nothing else helps try a fresh install but you need to download it through steam if you bought it from steam :

Incase you bought the TESO from the sale and having problems to log in / register, I may have found a work around.

FIRST: Check your TESO launcher version. If it isn't 1.3.6.1380697, there is your problem.
It's the wrong version, for some reason.

Not sure can I link stuff here, but I uploaded my launcher on Google Drive. If this isn't by the rules, please mods hide the link.

Delete (or backup and move) your old Launcher folder and replace it with the folder in the .zip.
This should fix the problems with "Run from Steam" and so on.

Link for the Launcher. The folder is named as laucer.[drive.google.com]
