ESPN insider Jeff Passan loses access to Twitter in thick of MLB lockout talks

It was a heck of a time for Jeff Passan to lose access to his Twitter account.

One minute the ESPN MLB insider was breaking the news that the MLB and MLBPA had come to an agreement on the international draft, which was a major hurdle for the two sides to clear, and before you knew it he lost access to his account.

The apparent hackers changed his account name to “Jeff.eth (Jeff Passan)” and retweeted several posts from the account @SkulltoonsNFT.

“Today Jeff Passan’s Twitter account was hacked by someone posing to be
a Moderator for @skulltoonsnft , @azukizen, and @thugbirdz,” Skullltoons said in a statement. “They used our Banner, Profile pic, and Retweeted us without any permission.
Furthermore, the hacker also tweeted a link to a fake/scam minting site.

“@SkulltoonsNFT posted several tweets claiming they had no
involvement in what happened to Passan’s account and said it was done
by someone trying to impersonate them and steal from their community.”

As the world was waiting to find out if the MLB lockout has officially concluded, this was the worst time possible for Passan – one of the odds-on favorites to break the news – to lose access to his Twitter.
