DSL wifi router wont accept default password

Hi, I just got a wifi router from FairPoint, model is Comtrend AR-5381u. I looked through the user manual and found the default username, password, and gateway for the web interface but when I try to enter the username and password it doesn't accept it. I've also tried to reset the router 3 time but it makes no difference. How can i fix this?

Are you using the default credentials supplied by the ISP? or ones found online for the router?  One thing i could think of is the ISP using a custom firmware and different passwords.

I couldn't find any credentials supplied by the ISP. I tried the ones I found in the routers user manual

Then probably try asking your ISP if they know anything about it...
