For a known password, go to the Spotify website. Select Log In, enter username/password. Select Profile > Account > Change Password.
For a forgotten password, go to the Spotify website and select Log In > Forgot your password. Enter your email address and select Send.
After you receive the email, open it and select Reset Password. Enter and confirm your new password and select Send.

How to Change a Spotify Password

To keep your Spotify account secure, it's a good practice to update your password from time to time. To change your Spotify password, log in to your account via the Spotify website.

This method assumes you can remember your current Spotify password. If you've forgotten it, follow the instructions in the next section.

Go to the Spotify website and select Log in in the upper-right corner of the home page.
Enter your username/email address and current password and select Log In. If you use Facebook, see the next section.
Select your Profile on the upper-right corner and select Account from the drop-down menu.
Select Change password in the left menu.
Enter your current password into the Current password field.
Enter your new password into the New password field, then once more into the Repeat new password field.
Select Set new password.
Once the password has been changed you should see a "Password updated" message.

How to Reset Spotify Password When You've Forgotten It

Changing your Spotify password is more complicated when you've forgotten it. When you don't know the current Spotify password, you can reset it in a few steps. This also applies to logins using a Facebook account whether you know the password or not.

You will no longer need to use the Facebook login button if you reset it.

Go to the Spotify website and select Log in in the upper-right corner of the home page.
Select Forgot your password.
Enter the email address or username associated with your account.
Select the I'm not a robot CAPTCHA box.
Select Send.
Log in to the email account you associated with Spotify and look for the reset password email.
Open this email and select Reset Password.
Enter a new password into the New password field, then again into the Repeat new password field.
Select the I'm not a robot CAPTCHA box.
Select Send.

After creating your new password, store it someplace safe and easily accessible. Consider using a password manager, which takes the hassle out of recalling dozens or hundreds of random symbols.
