Welcome to Benjamin Franklin College

Benjamin Franklin College is one of the fourteen residential colleges(Link is external) at Yale University. Our college was designed in the Collegiate Gothic style, with inspiration from the early 20th-century buildings of James Gamble Rogers. While it was built to look as if you stepped back in time, the modern construction and amenities make it the perfect home to our 500 plus undergraduate students. Residential Colleges are central to the student experience at Yale and provide an intellectual environment and vibrant community for our undergraduate students, graduate affiliates and faculty fellows. Life at Benjamin Franklin is vibrant and includes college tea’s, concerts, events with the Head of College, intramural sports, and support for student research and participation in the arts. In addition to a dedicated dining hall, common room, library and college buttery, our college includes a student run coffee shop (“The Beanjamin”), a 2,800 square foot gym with state-of-the-art equipment, a  dance studio and a recording studio. We’ve recently added a new art gallery, outdoor music venue, and bike repair shop. We share some spaces with our fraternal twin, Pauli Murray College including a barre/yoga studio, a pottery studio, an indoor basketball course and a theater.
