      When the premium payment wasnt received for the November 19, 2022, premium, the cash value of the policy was used to purchase Extended Term Insurance (***) per the policy provisions. The Extended Term Insurance provides face value coverage until the expiration date of July 15, ****, with no further premiums needed.  

      In recent conversations, we have provided what is needed if the desire is to reinstate the policy, surrender the policy or to continue the policy with the *** coverage. Copies of all prior correspondence as well as the premium history for the policy has been provided in the response letter mentioned above.

      During the February 5, **** conversation, with our customer service representative, it was documented that you had advised that the check had not been received. Our representative stated that they would be following up with February 7, ****, to see if the check had been received. We want to ensure that the check had not been just delayed prior taking the steps needed for a reissuance of the check.

      Waiting on insurance claim for a funeral. Files a claim and they will not honor it due to the *******, ***** ************************* gave a pending death certificate. The medical examiner's office called the insurance company, but they will not issue the claim. They need to send me the $10.000 claim to me because I had to pay for the funeral out of pocket. I am 74 years old, and I need this claim to go through.

      As a consumer who is protected under the consumer protection laws, I feel that my rights under the Truth in Lending Act have not been respected. Furthermore, I was not provided with a full disclosure of the entire credit amount on my account listed above. I applied for personal/family open-end consumer credit in 2023. My account was created with a positive status of credit, and it provided an extension of my credit. The attached remittance coupon and the bond are located at the top of my statements.Despite my attempts to resolve the matter amicably, GERBER LIFE INSURANCE and associates refused to accept my lawful form of satisfying the account listed above.Upon thorough review of my account, the significant discrepancies namely overpayment requests and the imposition of additional late fees or junk fees penalties. It is important to note that both these practices are explicitly prohibited by the relevant regulations and legislation governing our industry and I do not permit you to close any of my accounts on file.

           Credit card payments from an active credit card.
      Gerber Life does not extend credit or lend funds for its life insurance policies.

      Been with the company for over two years and the outdated payment system online and letter communication caused me to want to cancel. When I did I spoke with ****** and ******* (in which ******* was almost berating) who offered no additional options. This company is poor when it comes to customer service and I see now why people warned me not to go with them. Theyre systems are so outdated and are quick to let long term customers go.

      This company was told over the phone that they are NOT to contact my family via phone or postal mail and the company continues to send my family postal mail for Gerber Life Insurance. My kids are over the age of 16 and 18 and I called the company and told them to stop contacting me or I would take legal actions. After less than a MONTH from calling them demanding they cease and desist they continue to illegally contact me and do not stop with the requests to sign up for their services. DO I NEED TO CONTACT FEDERAL AUTHORITES TO GET THIS COMPANY TO LEAVE ME ALONE? If this company continues to send me postal mail for insurance I will take legal actions and *** the company. They have less than 30 days to comply or legal action will be taken.

      Your concerns raised to be removed from future mailings from Gerber Life Insurance was received on December 29th, 2023 and forwarded for review and handling.  

      Gerber Life Insurance takes these matters seriously and has taken corrective measures to prevent you from receiving future mailings from us. We have verified that you are on our internal Do Not Mail list as of December 12, 2023 and your information has been removed from our marketing database. Gerber Life Insurance does not want anyone to receive our mailings that do not want them or are not interested in our products.
      Please allow up to 90 days from the initial request date for the marketing materials to completely stop. We apologize for the frustration during that time period but our mailing campaigns are completed over the course of several months and it may be possible that your name and/or address was already in an upcoming campaign.

      We also show that your request to not be contacted via phone was also received and the phone number provided was added to our internal Do Not Call listed on December 12, 2023. Please allow up to 30 days from the request date to be completely removed from our calling campaigns.

      I'm filing this complaint on behalf of my mother who has dementia, Gerber life insurance has been talking out $62.70 per month from her bank for her life insurance since 2016, now they have not taken out since October 2023. they keep telling her on the phone its fine, they will take it out in 3 days, its been two months and they have not. I believe they are trying to drop her because they think she doesn't know, she don't speak or understand clearly due to her dementia. shame on them,I have POA for my mother, I have called them and sent documents, they ignore me and have responded to anything correspondence. if they are not going to continue her policy they need to provide us a full refund for the monies collected. they have not notified her of any changes, as a matter of fact, they changed and made an error to her beneficiaries, it was myself, my sister and my husband. they sent her a policy that only had my husband as beneficiary. very strange!

      My grandson passed away last November and all the requirement documents that were needed I submitted and now the Gerber life insurance company is asking for more information they have been giving me the run around, I am disappointed in the company.

      The claim filed was within two years of the policys issuance and the routine contestability claim review is being completed. We are still waiting on records from three facilities. One facility is requiring a completed affidavit to release the necessary records. We have included another copy of the affidavit in our letter of explanation to ******************. Once this has been received and provided to the facility, we can receive the records from them that are needed to complete our claim review.

      I was paying for my babies college fund and I recently decided to cancel.I had been making my payments on time and called customer service because we needed to cancel so the representative told me to fill out the forms and we would get our money back. I called to check on why I still haven't received my daughter's money they said I would not be getting any of her money back this was 900$ paid. The representative told me I will not be getting it back this seems so wrong I'm saving this money for my daughter and when I want to take it back they keep it. No one ever told be when I spoke to them on the phone that I would be losing all the money I worked so hard to make for her.

      The Gerber ************ Plan policy contains a Notice of 30 Day Right to Examine Policy which provides the policyowner, the opportunity to review the policy in its entirety to determine if it suits the intended needs, and if does not to return it with a request to cancel the policy within 30 days for a full premium refund. Beyond the 30 Day Right to Examine Policy, the premiums paid for the policy provided life insurance protection during the time the coverage was in force. If a claim had been approved, the appropriate benefit would have been paid to the beneficiary according to the policy coverage.  The policy also builds a cash value. The Cash Values for the policy are provided in the Table of Guaranteed Policy Values within the policy kit.

      Since March 21, 2023 I have been trying to close the life insurance policy my deceased grandmother, *************************, took out on me. ******* passed away in June 2022 and her estate has long since been settled. Gerber has repeatedly asked me for various forms and signatures, which I have given and complied with. They are now stating that they cannot close the account or deem me a policy holder--despite my name on the policy--because they need a small estate affidavit from the court and it has to have court signatures and seals. I have called and spoke with them once a week throughout the month of November, along with multiple calls in the past, trying to explain that in the State of ******** a ************ Affidavit with a notary seal is all that is required to close an account and that is what I have submitted to them. Their legal department continues to uphold that this form will not work and that I need court documents after stating they needed 5-7 business days to review and then taking a month to share their verdict. Correspondence with this company has been miserable, as they often request things to be submitted via email, only to mail letters out a month or two after receiving documents. Whenever I call I'm put on extended holds when requesting to speak with a licensed agent or manager. This company has continuously done everything in their power, including taking money from the account to keep it open, just to ensure that I am unable to close it and collect the money in the account. I have attached the ************ Affidavit for ******** (Pursuant to 755 ILCS 5/25-1) that they're refusing to honor as proof it has been completed and submitted.

With the ownership transfer completed, we were able to process the policy surrender request received, using the Surrender Request form received in May 2023.
