Her class discussions are super interesting. For a TIDES class, it was heavier on the work load (compared to what I've heard from others) but if you're genuinely interested in the subject, it's not a big deal. She made a big effort to get us involved in events off campus & I'm looking forward to eventually having her as a professor again.

I had her for my freshman seminar Latin American Dance Cultures and loved it. She is also director of study abroad so she is good connection to make if that's something you want to do.

Not worth taking

Harsh grader. Fun in class but lots of readings.

She seems down to earth and understanding but once you have finished your first assignment you realize she grades inanely strict. I got a B- on an essay simply because my bibliography was a little off.

I took her honors colloquium Ethnography of Latin American Dance - interesting topic matter, fun class structure, and most importantly an amazing professor. She was very knowledgeable in the field, had amazing stories, really cared about her students, etc. If you have the chance, take her classes!!

Absolutely fantastic professor. My Portuguese really improved because to her class. Attendance is mandatory, but she's upbeat and very passionate about the material she teaches, so it's not bad at all. She is incredibly helpful, and wants all her student to succeed. I'll definitely take another class with her.

Annie Gibson is one of the smartest and down to earth professors Ive ever met. She is so passionate about her research and her courses and cares a lot about her students. She has the perfect balance of discipline and flexibility and if the course allows, will take you on field trips. This class was very unique but I imagine anyone would enjoy her.

Gibson is a very good professor. She wants her students to do well, and is a very passionate teacher. She does her best to keep students interested in class, and makes sure everyone grasps the info. One of the best of professors I've had at Tulane thus far

Favorite teacher at tulane ever. wish i could have taken her again for spanish 2 but 8 am is not for me. she is joyful, nice, and extremely helpful. she goes out her way and job so we can learn and have fun at the same time. i never knew class could be so much fun! will take any class by her not at 8am.

Very passionate teacher. Tries to make beginning Spanish enjoyable. She is very willing to help and there are lots of opportunities to boost your grade!

I had Annie as a prof. for Portuguese. She is a great teacher and made me love the class/subject. Obviously is passionate about the subject and passes that onto her students, it made the class my favorite this semester. She expects you to do the work but is still nice to everyone. Get her as a professor, she is awesome!

Class is ridicuosly easy plus you get eye candy every class.

anne a cutie. she LOVES latin american studies and really gets that point across. the work load is totally manageable. sometimes the material seems a little redundant and stupid but overall is very interesting. i love anne
