So some basic & important features of ASC are as follows (After Login)

1. CANARA Bank Details

Academics—>Account/Fee—> Canara Bank A/C

Enter you Canara Bank account no here (You will be able to pay your semester fee/Mess Fee/Receive Scholarships/Stipend )

2. Running Courses in a Semester

Academics —-> Course Info —> Running Course

Choose the Session/Semester/Department you will get the no of courses running in your department in that semester

3. Grading Statistics

Academics —-> Course Info —> Grading Statistics

Enter the course code/choose the department to get the grading statistics when the last time courses were taught.

4. Course Details

Academics —-> Course Info —-> Course Details

Choose the Department and then particular course to get the course details of a particular course.

5. Courses with limited Seats

Academics —> Course Info —-> Courses with Upper Cap

It provides you the current status of the no of seats available in courses which are having limited no of seats.

6. Personalised Timetable

Academics —-> Timetable —–> My Timetable

Provides you the Personalised Timetable of the courses you have taken (Take the Printout )

GPO IITB

IIT Bombay provides you a mailing service known as GPO

It gives you an email id of rollno@iitb.ac.in (which you can change later, you will receive the instructions on how to do it)

How to use GPO ?

Step 1:

Go to https://gpo.iitb.ac.in

You will get a screen as shown below use your LDAP ID to Login

LDAP ID [ Username :RollNo Password:DDMMYYYY(Date Of Birth) ]

Step 2:

After login you will see a interface similar to any other mailing service on the web

In the above figure ‘Highlighted Area’ shows your mails.

Moodle IITB

Moodle is a platform that manages all your registered courses here in IITB.

So keep a track of this site regularly all the information pertaining to any particular subject will be on this site.

How to use Moodle ?

Step 1:

Go to https://moodle.iitb.ac.in

You will get a screen as mentioned below and use your LDAP ID to Login

LDAP ID [ Username :RollNo Password:DDMMYYYY(Date Of Birth) ]

Step 2:

After login you will see all the courses you have registered in ‘My Courses’ (Highlighted Area)

Step 3:

Clicking on any course will provide you information/updates in that course

Clicking on ‘Grades’ will provide you grades in that course.

Clicking on ‘News Forum’ will provide you a forum to participate regarding any queries pertaining to that subject.

As the course progress you will see the documents shared by instructor at the centre of the page (Highlighted Area)

How To Access DC++ in Campus

Step 1 : Download & Install

Windows Users : http://dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/

Mac Users : http://www.cornelldc.com/mac/

Step 2 : Get the Hub Address of Active hubs from here

http://dc.iitb.me

Step 3 : Open your installed software

Go to connect option – > Enter the hub address

you can connect many hubs at the same time.

Note : At times you will be required to share a minimum amount of data in a hub so go to installed software settings add folders/drive you want to share.

Step 4: Search for the file you are looking for in search and download whatever you want.

How To Access Internet In IITB ?

LAN cables are available in hostels shops for some Rs 40/50 bucks

Step 1:  Your Login Details (Known as LDAP ID in IITB)

Username :Roll No

Password:DOB(Date Of Birth DD:MM:YYYY)

Step 2: Accept IT Policy (Make sure you accept it else no internet for you)

Go to following link and accept IT Policy

Step 3: Check if https://internet.iitb.ac.in is working, if it is working you will see something like this

Internet.iitb.ac.in

 

So enter your login details and access internet.

Step 4: If  https://internet.iitb.ac.in is not working here comes the tedious task of manual proxy setting

Go to you LAN settings and change according to your location  ( Provided in attached pdf )

Then to ‘Advanced’ and you will get the relevant tabs to change the setting

Step 5: Go to your browser settings look for proxy settings and use

server : netmon.iitb.ac.in

port : 80

bypass proxy : *.iitb.ac.in

Firefox Users:

Step 6: Go to any website and a popup will come to enter your LDAP id and you are to good to go to use Internet (At a awesome speed)
