Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Kaplan University will consider accepting transfer credit from accredited postsecondary institutions, various certification exams, and military training and experience. Undergraduate students are eligible to receive credit for prior learning from work, volunteer, or other life experiences. Approved experiential credit may take the form of reviewed professional learning and Experiential Learning Portfolios. Students may be required to submit official transcripts, course descriptions, and other supporting documentation prior to awarding of credit.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Credit cannot be awarded until an official transcript is furnished indicating postsecondary credits earned at a college or university accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
  • SAT Scores:
    Certain undergraduate programs require students to complete an entrance exam and/or assessments. Students should review their individual program requirements for further information and explanation.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    Not required.
  • Essay:
    Not required.
  • Application Fee:
    No, Kaplan University does not have an application fee. Once the application is processed and the financial plan is accepted by the student, a deposit is required at the time of enrollment. The deposit is credited toward the first quarter's tuition.
  • Interview:

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    Grades in courses submitted for transfer credit consideration must correspond to a “C” or better for undergraduate programs and a “B” or better for graduate programs.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    Credits earned in any combination of prior learning will not exceed 75% of the credits required for degree and diploma programs. Undergraduate students must complete a minimum of 50% of the major requirements for their program at Kaplan University.
