Service a disaster - impossible to close an account

Since 2 years we have - fortunately no need for a bank in Spain. Experience was absolutely disastrous, arrogant, ignorant. Responsible personnel at the Barcelona office constantly changed. Now we fight for closure of the bank account. They are unable and unwilling to do this. Instead, we get regularly harassed with "open fees" for an account we don't need, want, nor use at all. The last request was to update our passports and data protection infos - which we refuse to do. It is truly sickening... (and very sad: in 2005 when opening an account, it was an excellent service for several years.

Abusive bank with high fees

Abusive bank with high fee if you wish to withdraw money. It is like it is managed by someone with a quite conservative person. Someone old that has a mentality like living in the 80' where people can be abused.

Luckily, with internet and information, people can read reviews and experiences and I really want to think customers will swap to another banks but not then. I am pretty sure that most of the customers they have are retired people or pensioners that had been previously in another bank like Cajasol or Caja San Fernando, and they took them when they made a fusion.

I wouldn't recommend to anyone La Caixa and therefore I would suggest to the current customers to change if they have the chance

Worst bank experience ever!!

Worst bank experience ever!!! I have not received my card despite 5 attempts to re-send it from the bank office. The staff in the offices has no clue on what to do for simple operations such as accounts changes, I have never received the same answer twice for the same request, they are extremely badly trained (or not at all!). Furthermore, it looks like they are trained to lie to customers, as I recently discovered I was told to conclude a home insurance with them for one year when in fact this was for three years.

worst bank I have ever been with

worst bank I have ever been with. They say one thing in email and then change their minds. the staff are not sure about what they are doing and can be rather rude, especially on the phone.

Zero Customer Service

Zero Customer Service
Absolutely the worst bank ever. Like so many other people, I was also told that my account would be frozen and I would be unable to access my account (to pay my bills/mortgage) and when living away from Spain, this would have caused a real problem. Everything comes at a cost (even a debit card!) When I sold my house, Caixa told me that I would need to personally visit a branch in order to close my account (even though my solicitor had power of attorney). Luckily, this was sorted out, but only because of my persistence. I have never felt such sheer relief of being able to close my account.

This ridiculous bank asks me for…

This ridiculous bank asks me for documentation every day and wants me to prove that I am actually a medical doctor. I have scanned my international ID card recognized all over the globe and this tiny organization doesn’t recognize it. Probably it is illegal procedure and if I had taken them to the court, they wouldn’t stand a chance. But why waste time and money on such ridiculous bank. DONT PUT A PENNY HERE. Unprofessional impolite arrogant ignorant are just a few words to describe this bank and how you will be treated.

Absolute rubbish customer service

Absolute rubbish customer service, but they love to to charge all this ridiculous maintenance. I haven't used my account for years because they would not activate it or change it from lanzarote to mainland Spain. Now there demanding money..... Avoid this bank.

Villa Martin Branch liars and thieves

Villa Martin Branch. Staff lie and ignore customer instructions to earn commissions.
Ignored us for 5 months then responded providing incorrect information.
Today we caught them lying again. Made official complaint and closed the account after they effectively stole over 196E
Took over a month to get an appointment but then not informed that they had moved. Just about managed to get to location so as not to miss appointment
Have heard many other complaints from people about staff at the branch. AVOID & BANK ELSEWHERE

The worst bank ever

The worst bank ever. Just thieves.
When tried to close my long saving accounts after losing money on new savings, they kept all the interest earned for 14 years from my old savings too! as they said I clicked on the button saying I didn’t want those profits!
It didn’t make any sense as how would I refuse to gain all the interest earned?
But they invest quite a lot in their legal department…to get away with their lies and robbery to poor customers like me as we can’t afford to fight for out rights!
Also, they ask you to sign up many contracts without checking what you have finally signed so keep an 👁️ on them.
That’s why they make millions of profits, on stealing poor people’s savings …Very unfair.

worst experience ever - and ZERO improvements

i now totally hate this bank. i have spent years trying to use their website/apps/interface and its £$%&ing USELESS. i have never seen such a badly designed interface. Clearly the ignorant 'managers' decided on features/tools/buttons, with the help of some programming students... NO ONE at this bank bothered to look at Northern Europe, England, usa, etc to see how experienced professionals design their interfaces. Using Caixa is like going to the dentist. On a good day its frustrating and annoying. On a bad day you want to scream. PATHETIC !!!!!!!

Customer care when visiting from abroad …

Last year this bank was most helpful and sorted my car tax payment. This year the branch would not deal with me because I could not speak Spanish. Another Holabranch which supposedly helps all nationalities allowed me to speak English but would not look up my bill for this year and said I had to get it online. What has happened to customer care?!

Stoneage banking

When I purchased a holiday home in Spain, my solicitor set me a bank account up with Caixabank. One year later I still have no card and no access to my account despite paying 25 euros a month. Flew over this week after arranging a meeting- 4 hours in a meeting and they still cannot give me a card. I can't believe how backward this bank is.

Access to my account seems impossible…

Access to my account seems impossible as I have no longer got the spanish mobile associated with thr account. The only way to resolve any issue with Lacaixa is to physically visit a branch - which is fine unless you're out of the country. My other spanish bank has fixed this issue in minutes over the phone.
But La Caixa arent able to. Authentication method needs to have flexibility in these situations.

Just Appalling Customer Service

Just Appalling Customer Service. They blocked my account for no reason. I went to branch who couldn't wouldn't help. They directed me to my adviser, who didn't turn up to two appointments. I called customer service who sent a pin via text message which I never received (my phone company's fault apparently)- so they wouldn't talk to me. Meanwhile they still charge me €35 every quarter even though I'm blocked from using the account. I can't even put money in! Unbelievable

Worst Bank!!!

What can I say??? the worst bank is a true opinion. Getting any answer from bank clerk is a really miracle. They don't inform you if anything goes wrong, suspend your account without any sign and everything know better... shame on you!
