Unable to log into Account Management using Steam log in
So I downloaded the 14 Day EVE Online trial via Steam and upgraded to the Steam Starter pack yesterday via a gift. Since then my account has only said it's a trial account.

I've tried logging into my account by going to https://secure.eveonline.com/ and logging in via Steam login, but i just get given the error of

"Login failed. Possible reasons can be:
Please use your EVE username / password"

I just want to upgrade to something that's been paid for.

How do I resolve this?

thats not how you do it. You click account management, then you click the green button that reads "log in with steam" if you bought the game yourself you should be good to go, if it was gifted to you you may have problems.
Thats what I've tried doing, when I've tried logging in via steam in the account management, it tries to proccess the steam log in and thats when the error comes up... It was gifted to me cause I didnt have the money in my account at that moment in time.

Bump, got the same issue, gifted aswell, but we gotta wait till steam fixes this ♥♥♥♥ (wich might take a while -.-) the gifted copy's are bound to the people who gave you the copy. But its even impossible to do it trough their steam accounts, people have tried, and their account for eve just got deleted because of it... It's an annoying mess.
Urgh this is insane... I just want to play not on a trial account
guys, check the forum. there are already threads about this with tons of entries. Sorry to tell ya, but you're screwed ATM. I'm currently seeking a refund from steam and trying to get the GMG version (they're price matching the 75% off) it's been 3 days for me and still no fix I figure it's not worth the time anymore.
They best ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fix it, this is ridiculous, typical steam ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥...
I made a thread on steam support and have had no reply.. Steam support just isn't what it was :'(
Honestly, support sucks because you have to wait. There are thousands of tickets going in every hour and only so many people to sift through them. I hate waiting too, I'm complaining so much because I've been waiting days on this issue and still no fix. Our subscriptions are ticking and we've gotten no official word from CCP or Valve about what to do/expect. Like just throw us a "we're working on it" and I'd be happy. 5+ threads about this issue with hundreds of replies and no official word.
Well thank you for your help... I just hope this issue is resolved soon.. Do you think the'll refund us with the days we've wasted being unable to use?

I feel like they will, it's pretty unheard of to receive no compensation when you're not able to play a subscription based game because of problems on their end. I mean if the servers crash they credit your account the time servers were down. I imagine this will be similar. Theres no telling how long this could take as neither Steam nor CCP has decided to tell the users suffering from this problem anything about it. Those of us asking for refunds havent heard anything back yet either.

well i hope something gets resolved soon
Heres what I did. When the launcher comes up, click Account Management, Sign in through Steam, do whatever in there, youll notice the border around your avatar in steam goes green like youre playing, then go blue staight away, this is what it gave it away. RESTART Eve through Steam, the launcher will come up again with the EULA, click Accept, voila, one Eve account through Steam

Did you buy it or was it gifted to you? I feel like you're one of the people who dont actually read threads. But I do appreciate the sentiment and effort to help.

-edit-
when I try your advice this is what happens to me and everyone else who received the game as a gift.

click Sign in through STEAM
receive error: "Login failed. Possible reasons can be:
Please use your EVE username / password"

I DONT HAVE ONE.

I bought it, but I spent 20 mins trying to figure out the same problem myself, hence why I thought it might help. Apologies folks!

no worries, for the people who bought it for themselves the issue was resolved early yesterday. But for those of us who were gifted copies, we're still getting shafted. Buying our own copy is not an option as you cannot buy a game you already own(and we own it because we were gifted). Steam needs to talk to us about this issue. Even know the outcry is getting quieter and quieter as more and more people flee steam for other services that are matching steams %75 off price.
