aIRTEL mAIL PROBLEM

On limited bandwidth and prefer/use OE, even for Gmail !
Please give the POP and smtp data for use in OE.

Q-16 : What is new SMTP & Pop3 Server address??
Ans : SMTP Server is - smtp.gmail.com and Pop3 Server is pop.gmail.com. Please note that SMTP Mail server requires authentication and you can use same settings as Incoming mail server. Also SMTP and Pop3 servers require encrypted connection (SSL).
Q-17 : What are ports of SMTP & Pop3 servers?
Ans : The port of SMTP server is 465 and the port of Pop3 server is 995

Update 1245 Not connecting. gmailId in OE OK.
same ports for both gmailID and airtelID.

UPDATE: 0852AM tried in OE/accounts smtp.tn.airtelmail.in and pop.tn.airtelmail.in Not working.
Ports also changed to 25 and 110. not working.

Airtel mail sending and receiving in Outlook Express SUCCESS! testing again. Mail ID : abcd @ airtelmail.inincoming 😛op.tn.airtelmail.com ( pop.googlemail.com does not work ?) 995 edited at 1121.SPA (* select your state abbreviation )outgoing SSL smtp.googlemail.com port 465.SSL.

@sushubh:sorry typing mistake gogglemail.comconfirmed. googlemail.comI had stopped using airtel ID and this thread interested me to try again.I use only OE to send and receive email with gmail and airtel ID now.

1.Had problem receiving email with airtel ID in OE.
2.Could send mail, but unable to receive. ( used smtp.googlemail.com and pop.gmail.com)
3.Tried all combinations , none worked.
Checked mail in airtel website . Airtel all OK.
4. Contacted AIRTEL CC and they activated my POP connection. Now OK
5. Settings now pop.gmail.com No SPA port 995
......................smtp.gmail.com ( advanced ssl /ssl port 465 )
......................Id abcd @ airtelmail.in
6. Confirmed there is no entry as googlemail now.

@members/essbey those settings are for the outlook express , airtel webmail are working fine , these settings are for the ppl who want to use outlook express .

if you are using outlook express i suggest you move to Windows Live Mail ...

Yes . Latest news. Microsoft also going to ditch OE and compel move to Windows Live Mail.

I use only OE to send and receive email with gmail and airtel ID now.
also Dataone.ID.

Thunderbird!MS does this every 2-3 yrs, force users to use new version.
