Other safeguards used by MAWSS include heat sensors to provide SCADA alarms and shut down the motors when motor temperatures are too high, and moisture sensors to indicate when pump seals have failed.

MAWSS maintenance staff continuously monitors and analyzes the data in the computer system and visits each site on a regular basis.

Circuitry for the MAWSS lift stations provide for a delayed starting of one of the two motors after a power failure.
