The
Meijer Credit Card is worth considering if you routinely get gas at Meijer stations and your credit score is
700 or higher. Paying with this card automatically saves you 10 cents per gallon at Meijer gas stations, which equals more than 3% back when gas costs $3 per gallon, and there’s no annual fee.
Using the
Meijer Credit Card to buy groceries at Meijer or make any other type of purchase can save you money, too – just not as quickly. You get a $10 reward for every $750 that you charge to the card. But that’s just 1.33% back, and the
best credit cards for groceries can save you much more.
What I Like About the Meijer Credit Card
Easy-to-earn initial bonus
You can get
$10 off your in-store purchase in the first 30 days, plus an additional $40 off when you use your in-store discount by 6/21/25. With that, you might even be able to afford eggs.
$0 annual fee
This is standard for a store-affiliated credit card, so it doesn’t really distinguish the
Meijer Credit Card from the crowd. On the bright side, though, it makes the Meijer Mastercard
$23.75 per year cheaper than the average credit card offer available right now, according to
WalletHub research.
$0.10/gallon discount at Meijer gas stations
This discount gets applied automatically when you pay with the card at the pump at a Meijer station. The lower gas prices are, the better this offer becomes in percentage terms.
You can also combine this discount with Meijer mPerks points for extra savings. You can earn these points by making purchases at Meijer.
$10 reward for every $750 in purchases
This is better than average, but it’s nothing special. The best rewards cards give 2% - 6% back.
What I Don’t Like About the Meijer Credit Card
Very high APR
The interest rate on this card is a lot higher than the already-high market average. You can avoid this downside by paying your full statement balance by the due date every month, as interest charges don’t accrue when you pay in full monthly.
Rewards expire
If you receive your $10 reward for spending $750 via paper certificate, it will expire after 60 days. If you get it electronically, you’ll need to use it within 45 days.
Requires good credit
You stand a good chance of getting approved if your credit score is
700+, and you can see if you’re above that threshold by
checking your credit score for free right here on WalletHub. If your score is lower, you might get approved for the
Meijer Store Card instead. That version can only be used at Meijer but offers very similar perks.
