Logging In with a Common Access Card (CAC)

If you have a CAC, you can log into G-EGD either with the CAC and your PIN, or after your first login, with your DoD ID number and the password you created during your first login with your CAC.

The first time you log in, you must have your CAC and CAC reader to authenticate.

If you are logging in without your CAC reader (e.g., from home), enter your CAC number as your user name, but do not select "yes" when asked if you have a CAC.

Firefox does not work out-of-the-box with a CAC reader. If you prefer to use Firefox, download and install ActivClient (free for DoD) from https://militarycac.com/activclient.htm.

  1. Insert your CAC into your CAC reader.
  2. Open an Internet browser and go to: https://evwhs.digitalglobe.com. The Log In screen opens.
  3. Select CAC Access.
  4. At the prompt, enter your PIN.

You can use these same credentials to connect to G-EGD with third-party tools. See Third-Party Tools.

Users with existing non-CAC access who later log in with a CAC will not connect to their existing user profiles. First-time use of a CAC will create an additional (new) user profile.

  5. Do one of the following:
