I want to know what the difference between mstsc /admin and without.
And also what is the difference between RDP and the console from hyper-V/VMWare/physical screen.
(I still have a bunch of suppliers which are saying that you must install their application in console. )

Can it have influence on installing an application?

I found a site saying it is the same except if you are using RDS.
I found a site saying you it still connects to a console window except not on ID 0.

    Hi,

If you have RDS roles installed on the remote sever, mstsc /admin will allow users to remotely administer the server.

But if there is no RDS roles installed, it is not mandatory to use the /admin switch. In this case, the same connection behavior occurs with or without the /admin switch. At any point in time, there can be two active remote administration sessions.

To start a remote administration session, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the server to which you are connecting.

    Thanks,
    Jenny
