How to Set Up a Facebook Business Account Page for My Boss
Facebook business pages can be managed without signing up for a personal Facebook profile. Instead, you can use a Facebook business account. However, you cannot have both. If your boss asks you to set up a business account on his behalf, first confirm that he does not already have a personal Facebook account. Since you will be creating the page in your boss's name, he must be aware that Facebook disables all the accounts for anyone they catch using multiple accounts. To start a page for your boss, you need his business email address and date of birth.
-
1.
Go to the Facebook "Create a Page" page. Select the general type of business that you represent, such as "Local Business," "Institution" or "Brand or Product." Click on the business type to display a drop-down menu of categories. Select the category that best describes the company's services or products. Type the company or brand name into the text field below the drop-down menu. Check the box to agree to Facebook's user terms. Click "Get Started."
-
2.
Select the "I do not have a Facebook account" radio button near the top of the page. Enter your boss's business email into the "Email" field. This email address must not be already in use with any other Facebook account. Choose a password for the account. Write it down so you can pass it on to your boss. You also need to enter your boss's full date of birth. Check the user agreement box. Click "Sign Up Now."
-
3.
Inform your boss that you have created a user account in his name. Your boss will need to click on a confirmation link within his business email for the account to be activated. Once the account has been activated, your boss can use his new login info to access the page himself.
