Congratulations, Alumni

Your student email account is converting to an ECU Alumni account beginning 180 Days after graduation.

For graduates only, this free email account lets you show off your Pirate Pride! But if you return to school at ECU, your alumni email converts back to your previous student address. Mailbox information for both student and alumni remains available, whether using the alumni or student address.

What does this mean for you?

  • Your ECU email address converts to pirateID@ecualumni.ecu.edu.
  • Mailbox items automatically copy over to the new alumni address.
  • Log in through mymail.ecu.edu. Credentials are your student PirateID and password.
  • Alumni mailbox space is 50gb.
  • Password maintenance switches from pirateid.ecu.edu to Microsoft 365 Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR).
  • If you choose not to use the alumni account, it will be permanently disabled after 365 days of inactivity.

To do:

  • Enroll with Microsoft 365’s Self Service Password Reset service to update your password and account authentication methods.
  • See the IT Knowledge Base “Alumni Account” category for more information and tutorials.
  • Manually configure your pirateID@ecualumni.ecu.edu account on mobile devices.

You keep your OneDrive cloud storage

  • Storage space is reduced to 100gb.
  • OneDrive’s Office web apps allow you to create and edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote documents within OneDrive.
  • Microsoft Office downloads no longer work (students only) and computer files become read-only.

To do:

  • If the documents in your student OneDrive exceed 100gb, move and organize them prior to graduation.
  • Upload your read-only computer documents to OneDrive and edit through the Office web apps.
