Starting out steps:
• Step 1: Identify your login details – please visit the following

If you have a problem logging in:
– Please first try to reset or create a new password. Visit:
http://www.northampton.ac.uk/user
If your password has expired, you will still be able to log in to the user
portal to reset this yourself.
If you have forgotten your password, please click on the above link and
select 'Forgot Password'.
If you continue to have log-in problems, please contact IT Services.
You will need to have your student number (this is your username) to
hand.

If you cannot see the NILE sites for modules you are studying:
– Step 1: Check with other students (if you can, contact other students on
the same module, and ask if they can see the site)
– Step 2: Check with your Tutor (ask your tutor if the site is available and if
you are listed on NILE as a user on the site)
– Step 3: Student Administration Team (ask them to check that you are
enrolled on the module).

6. Accessing
module information on NILE
Access a NILE module site and click on the menu options on the left of
the page to view the following information:
– Check Announcements regularly.
– Access and read the module guide.
– Look at the contact information to find out who your tutor is, and how to
contact them.
– Look at the Module Materials section for learning material (e.g. lecture
and seminar notes, case studies, videos and weblinks - these may be
differently named in each module).
– Access the Reading list and check to see if the books are available online
or need to be purchased (check with the module guide and NILE site as
some books are provided for free as part of the module)
– Check the Assessment information (assignment briefs and deadlines/final
hand in date) for the module.
Remember to include your student number when you email your
tutor! 6

Assessment Briefs and Deadlines
– Assessment Briefs are provided on the NILE site within the Module
Guide (found in the Module Guide area) or within the Assessments
area.
– Assignment deadline dates are published in the module guide and on
NILE for each module. Any changes will be communicated via NILE or
by the tutor.
