How to Fix That Albert Double Log-In Glitch
Because isn’t checking your grades hard enough already?

Technology can be confusing. I can’t even figure out how to get Duo to “Send Me A Push” to log in to my NYU accounts. So, when I was informed that I’m not the only person who has been experiencing some difficulty logging into Albert, I felt relieved. Misery loves company, right? I’m glad we’re all suffering endlessly logging in over and over again.
Thankfully, NYU IT has offered a simple solution to our Albert woes: clear your web browser’s cache.
NYU IT has a page with instructions for how to clear caches from various web browsers, since not all browsers are created equal. According to its website, clearing your cache can help Albert and NYU Google Apps like Drive run more efficiently.
But what does clearing your cache actually do, you might wonder? Clearing your cache removes data that was stored locally in order to help speed up website navigation. According NYU IT’s website, “The cache is designed to save time, since the browser does not need to retrieve a fresh copy of the file or page from the remote website each time you navigate to it, until you manually reload the page.”
If clearing the cache doesn’t work, clearing your cookies might also be helpful. Cookies are data that websites use to store your preferences on the site, such as login information. Be wary, though, that clearing your cookies will also mean that any website login information you have saved will likewise be erased. So make sure to write down those passwords before you clear a website’s cookies. (NYU IT helpfully linked this WikiHow page with instructions on how to clear cookies from different web browsers.)
Before you email IT in a panic, check out NYU Service Link, a guide for all of your troubleshooting needs. If your answer can’t be found there, email AskIT@nyu.edu, or call 212–998–3333 from the NYU campus. Contact information for NYU Global Sites can be found here.
Salvation is only a few clicks away.
