I will give 0 if possible worst car…

I will give 0 if possible worst car insurance company ever, I was with them 3 years, honestly this guy's are gangster take your money off, when I have accident they don't want to know you, if you want to claim they do looking for a little excuse to cancel your insurance policy

poor service..uninformed

after being with octagon for several yrs.. i made an enquirey and then told cannot insure my added driver as a delivery driver... yet said party has own insurance with them...cannot explain why do not now insure delivery drivers....web says insure vans and cars... our vehicals are not for delivery use. ..idiots and rude service.. avoid wont use again..

Total waste of TIME . Service is so POOR & communication

Totally wasting my time to wait for someone who will arrange my claim & replacement vehicle. Been with them for how many years but the service is so poor & delay of communication. They shouldn’t continue to get customers who will get insuranve from them. They are money grabber. My insurance policy will soon expire & my car is still waiting to be collected by their appointed salvage company & they still want to
Get my monthly direct debit, eventhough they haven’t provided me a replacement vehicle or pay me for my transport to work. I strongly NOT recommend this insurance Please check reviews before buying this insurance. Almost of the reviews are negative. Look for something else that has good reviews & ready to help &
Support when it’s needed especially when there’s a breakdown or accident that has been your fault.

Third party ran into back of car …

Third party ran into back of car damaged it and drove off octagon took so long to investigate that the cctv has been deleted. Then they recorded it on the database we were at fault and they paid out -completely false! Car insurance doubled and the financial ombudsman see no reason to put the business at fault! Worse service ever

Massive hike in premium but made it difficult to cancel the policy

Policy went from £374 one year to £1001 the following year for no reason, so I tried cancelling and it took about 20 minutes on the phone to finally get to speak to someone.
A lot of insurance companies hike premiums at the end of the first year possibly in the hope people will just pay. I always phone to cancel and get a new quote, what is annoying with this company though is they made it difficult to cancel and I couldn't find anyway possible to do it online as they suggested in their answerphone message

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! Unfortunately I couldn’t put no stars

Unfortunately I couldn’t put no stars. This insurance company are dreadful, DO NOT USE THEM. I insured a BMW X5 through them. I put my registration into their online quotation and it auto populated the description of the car, everything seemed fine, the correct colour, make, engine size etc. A few months later my house was broken into and the car was stolen off my driveway. When I contacted Octagon they told me immediately that I couldn’t claim because the car I had insured was not an X5 but a 5 series BMW as stated on my policy. The X was missing of the policy!! It took months of wrangling until they settled but then I only got 2 thirds of the value of the car. I cannot stress enough, please, please avoid this dreadful company!!!

Utter joke to be fair

Utter joke to be fair. Took them 6 weeks to accept my no claims despite numerous emails and calls. Took them best part of the policy to see me my actual policy and then when it came to renewal had no contact from until 3 days before insurance being due to find they wanted to increase my policy by nearly 500 pounds. Think I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Absolute rip off merchants

Do not use this insurance company. They are often the cheapest listed in comparison sites but it will cost you in the long term.

They offer cover at one rate then find any reason to up the price after the initial proposal.

Initially claimed they would mirror no claims bonus then after seeing our NCD proof said they wouldn't and doubled the price.

When we cancelled the cancellation fees strangely equaled the deposit paid!

There is a charge with Octagon for literally everything as well. We still get hounded by phone calls from their Chipping Sodbury office even after cancelling.

Also be aware that Octagon is actually Horizon Insurance, Based in Gibraltar.

Octagon insurance are shocking biggest mistake going with them, please pay the extra for a decent insurance company cause these are the worst ever ... Fuming isn't the word .
Don't care bout you or the effect it's gonna have Ok to take it money tho but wen it comes to them helping u out with a claim they dont give a crap .W**KERS ..STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY .....

If I could give them a zero rating I would.
Accident happened in June 2017, third party ran in back of me. Light damage to my car,and same to tp car.
Received renewal, price hike of over £700. Lapsed my policy, was told accident non fault on my behalf. Renewed insurance got a good deal, received ncd should of received 12 years this year and octagon states 9 years.
Accident showing still as pending and they have updated database as they paid out tp and assuming they put at fault on my claim. Ncd states accident and that tp drove into rear. Now insurance has shot up over 600 quid. Starting case against them to FSC and Ombudsman.
Totally incompetent individuals!
Steer well clear!!

They are fraud company and not an …

They are fraud company and not an instance company. All they do is collect money from client and run away from responsibility when an issue arises. Someone hits my car and accepted responsibility. I reported to Octagon and also told them to secure the CCTV camera where it happened for evidence. Octagon did nothing. I rang them about 2 weeks later and they said still waiting for the 3rd party, that I should go get the evidence myself from d CCTV where it happened. After 3 months now, rang them again and they said case has been closed as split liability. No communication, no update, nothing. They just messed up my policy and never did anything. I will report them to the authority.

I'm been taken off from the road …

I'm been taken off from the road yesterday by police and they said i have no insurance! They run out on 17 January 2017 I've been driving the car 4 months without insurance! Octagon not send me any reminders any renewal pac not phone call or anything. Just call to them now and they say we definitely send you a letter and email in January but I just get in touch with gmail and they confirmed as I'm not receiving anything from octagon this year! That's the worst insurer I ever had. Never again

Do not use this company or any related…

Do not use this company or any related companies in this group. I made a claim and they paid themselves yet I didn’t receive a penny for my vehicle I was told it would be scrap value yet somehow they managed to pay themselves over £600 and now the claim is held against me yet somehow they benefit. Also they said they would dispose of the vehicle to which I refused since I could see another part of their company was selling “write offs” for quite large amounts on auction sites. Absolute joke

Been with 3 year now. Have never had any problems yet. Their breakdown cover is outstanding. Were there within 35minutes and rang me twice in that time to make sure we were okay and to keep us informed. Really friendly driver too

No contact about claim

I was hit by an uninsured driver and put in a claim. In the 6 months that followed I was not contacted once by the company to explain the progress, and chased them personally every month when they didn't update me. Then they continued to send letters stating that they would be closing down my claim if I didn't contact them!

The departments of the company don't talk to each other and I seriously regret not paying a few more pounds for a more coherent company.

Ended up forking out £600 of my own money for repairs as I wasn't getting anywhere, despite not being at fault. I would not use them again.

Pay more with other insurers than deal with Octagon.

Never do we complain much, nor have we ever dealt with the most utter unprofessional insurers ever. We have dealt with other insurers for the past 30years, with many vehicles and policies in our household and company.

Stay away, and I would say I would rather pay more to other insurance companies than Octagon.

These guys are not understanding at all and can cancel your policy during half way though your policy.

Plus, when it comes to telephone for help, you might as well give up, otherwise you will waste your time and money waiting for at least 45minutes.

They are not reliable and I deal with the public service from day to day, Octagon are a joke.

Customer service is shocking.

The customer service team are shocking. I have rung them on two separate occasions now and the two different women I have spoken to say hello very nicely then it goes massively down hill. The issues were resolved but ask them any questions that aren't part of there drone script they become snotty. I can not wait for my year to end with octagon. Horrible compamy

Nightmare

Utter complete shambles of a company.Settles claim despite not accepting liability and then has the cheek and audacity to tell me they call the shots what do we pay insurance for then ? The customer services are terrible and you would get more sense from a zombie, Expect a long wait in excess of half an hour on the phone waiting to get an answer The saying is true you get what you pay for, cheap certainly cheerful not at all avoid at all costs

this company should be shut down

Dear god just stay away from this company. don't let the price fool you read the reviews of other people they are incompetent. All I asked for was a payment date change from the 13th to the 23rd of the month and they just ended up taking money out of my account without my permission. long story short is even my bank rang me because they thought it was fraud. as a result of this they canceled my policy and gave me seven days to pay the outstanding balance because my bank cancelled because they were taking money randomly.
