Founded by Tom Anderson, Myspace was a popular social media website.
In fact, it was the largest social networking site in the world from 2005 to 2008.
And it’s where people in Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Scunthorpe uploaded their favourite mirror selfies sporting a 2007-style haircut.
But, what isn't as well-known is the fact that your Myspace profile is still up and running.
That's right, depending on your privacy settings, anybody can search your name and scan through your pictures and connections.
Much has changed in the Myspace world since it was pushed out of the limelight by Facebook, Instagram and most recently Snapchat.
It’s now almost unrecognisable from its heyday, with music, videos and pictures applications replacing the blue-blocked Myspace profile page we all grew to love.
No longer can you make all your Myspace connections (friends) aware of your mood – whether it’s angsty, dorky, froggy or jedi.
It’s now all about music and streaming your EP, or checking out new and upcoming artists from around the world.
How to find your old Myspace profile
It’s simple. Search for myspace.com and then enter your name into their search bar - hey presto, there's your old profile.
You do not need to know your old password or create a new password to access any "public" accounts.
From here, you can search through your old photos, music, videos, "connections", events and "mixes".
How to delete your old Myspace profile
You can delete you Myspace profile in a few clicks, providing you still have access to your account.
All you need to do is click on your ‘settings’ page from a desktop computer. To do this, click on the ‘Gear’ icon and select ‘Account’.
NOTE: If you’re struggling to find ‘Your Account’ click here and then click on 'Settings'.
Following this:
- Click ‘delete account’
- Select a reason for removal
- Click ‘delete my account’
However, if you don't remember your password, you’ll have to submit a request to Myspace.
- Click here to contact Myspace (or search ‘Contact Myspace’ on Google)
- Select the ‘Login/Delete Assistance’ option in the drop-down menu
- Complete the form
Following this, a Myspace representative should email you within a few days, confirming that your account has been deleted.
However, the representative may require additional information to be able to remove your account from the platform.
