Ultimate Broadband no longer provides email addresses and services. However we can assist with an email SMTP address if required for outgoing email etc.
We recommend @gmail @hotmail or @outlook free email services if you want an email address. Non ISP provided email addresses are recommended as they are fully ISP agnostic & can be used worldwide.
Existing customers with email services

Instead of the postman swinging by and dropping a letter in your mailbox, we now can do this via the world wide web with email! Webmail is just email’s accessed on the web through your google browser or any other web browser on your pc, phone, or tablet. As long as you have access to the internet it can work!

An email client is a program that is used and installed on your desktop pc, iPhone, or any smartphone. They use email protocols like POP3 or IMAP to link the email server and application together. Just like webmail they still have inboxes, sent folders, addresses, etc. They do, however, have the added benefit of better encryption and more advanced security options integrated with them compared to webmail.

Webmail can work with both Microsoft Outlook and Google’s Gmail applications. They can also work with most other third-party email applications. Unfortunately, we have stopped providing a free webmail service. We still support our current webmail clients by providing webmail login access, third-party settings, and support via phone on 0800 000 945. If you’re trying to connect your UBB webmail to your Gmail or Outlook or Yahoo webmail, or any other 3rd party app UBB cannot help as we are not trained with any other product other than UBB’s. Short answer, Yes! You’re totally able to use your own email on UBB’s broadband service. We support all major email providers in NZ with the likes Orcon webmail, Xtra webmail, Farmside webmail, Yahoo webmail even 2degrees webmail

I can’t send emails over my connection?
In some cases ISP’s either block outgoing emails on 3rd party connections or require different settings to enable users to send emails with their email addresses. Xtra is the most common provider where this occurs, click here for info on getting your Xtra email working. You can google info for other providers or contact them directly.
Mail server settings
Our mail server set up details below work with Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, Windows mail and most mail clients. Note these settings are for our new server, if you are not yet migrated contact us here to arrange the change. Authentication is required for incoming and outgoing email as below.
Our mail service is POP 3 based, IMAP is not supported at this time. We recommend selecting delete from mail server emails once downloaded to your machine to avoid running out of mail inbox capacity.
Webmail services with providers of the likes Orcon webmail, Xtra webmail, Farmside webmail, Yahoo webmail. even 2degrees webmail are becoming obsolete compared to the free webmail services with Google’s Gmail, Microsoft Outlook live, and Yahoo mail. With most email applications on smart phones, computers and tablets easily integrate with them, why pay for a webmail service when you can get a free service that does far more than any webmail provider out there!
