Origin Energy issues warning over new email scam

Origin Energy is warning people about a new email scam targeting customers by issuing fake bills.

The hoax email is Origin-branded and contains links to malware which allows scammers to infect the user's computer with malicious files. The email presents as an email bill and asks users to click on a link.

AGL Origin says people should keep an eye out for suspicious sender email addresses (at the moment all of Origin bills will be sent from an @originenergy.com.au email address), not to click on links and to delete the email from your inbox and deleted items folder.
