Can you use OS maps in Garmin Connect

Can you add OS maps as an option for using to map off road routes. I have the OS subscription so have access to them, but can seem to find a way to enable it to allow you to create the routes in Garmin

I checked and it looks like OS maps is only for UK/GB which makes it pretty useless for all other users so it is unlikely…

It is called OS maps and got a subscription. He also calls it OS and not OSM which is the common abbreviation for OpenStreetMap.

OpenStreetMap is already supported by Garmin and got no subscription.

unknown outside the UK maybe, but everyone in the UK knows about OS Maps, it is the standard for outdoor activities. I, and many others carry OS paper maps as backup to smart devices in remote/newly visited…

What you can do is to create your routes in OS maps, export GPX and then import to Garmin Connect.

I see OpenStreetMaps in my Garmin Connect Web for any locations I tried, though it is true that they are a bit outdated (4 years old). You can hack the code though, and replace them with fresh ones, if you follow BunBun!'s instructions in this thread: forums.garmin.com/.../

I think that he means OS Maps: osmaps.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/

But it needs to be clarified. At first I also thought it was OSM that he was asking about.

What made you think so? That site is purely for the UK, and quite unknown - I would not expect any support for it in Garmin Connect at all. In contrary OpenStreetMaps is a global, well know, established service, and it is also already supported by Garmin Connect.

Correct and I agree. There is no way Garmin are going to put OS Maps in Connect unless they are going to pay royalties. I regularly create routes, but never use Connect/Explore as I have used other websites for many years that do a perfectly good job.

It is fairly common for GPS devices sold in the UK to either come pre-loaded with OS Maps or have them available at extra cost.

Yes it it for ordnance survey maps - as looking to map off road routes

My favourite is bikehike.co.uk but I sometimes use others like wtp2.appspot.com/wheresthepath.htm
