Do not engage in business with this banking institution. I fell behind on my car loan payments. The only way I could make the payments was to use a debit card, which was linked to the same account from which I previously made automatic payments before I fell behind and had to cease those payments. They declined my attempts. On several occasions, they refused the payments made by debit card. This morning, they repossessed my car. It seems they believe that repossessing my car is a better business decision than accepting payments via debit card. I tried multiple times to pay with my debit card, but they would not permit it. This situation could have been avoided if they had accepted just two of those payments. This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with.
Bill from Dallas More than five years with OSCU and have had no problems with customer service or account issues. Quite the contrary. They paid serious attention when I had a problem with a VPN vendor and returned the money to my credit card the vendor would not do. Getting almost 5% interest on a short 8 mo. CD and I sure like that. They always promptly respond to any inquiry I have and even gave me access to the general council and chief financial officer to ask my questions. Unlike WAFD, OSCU has NOT been recently downgraded by Moody's. I like my OSCU.

When I bought my car I got it with very low mileage for the year it is. It also runs and drives very smoothly, good on gas, economic car
As someone who has banked with OSU Credit Union for >20 years: switch to WaFd! My mother actually worked for OSU CU decades ago so I had internalized that credit unions were just “better.” False! I get the personal service and digital banking flexibility from WaFd that I can’t get from OSU. OSU made it near criminally difficult to wire money for my home purchase and it takes them 5 business days to support inter-account transfers. On a call a couple days ago, one of their own employees quietly advised that WaFd would be a better option for more flexible access to my own money — so embarrassing for them. The only reason a CU should be moving backward this way is if they have cyber security issues! Do yourself a favor and switch to WaFd!! You still get to support a regionally local business and they’ll appreciate your business.
Worst customer service I have ever recieved from any bank. I'm being continuously forced to lay late fees because the website is broken and unable to accept payments, while the customer support on the phone redirects me to said broken website and offers to take a phone payment at additional charge, all while being unclear, rude and condescending.
I haven't missed a payment in 7 years. My credit score was close to 800. We got a car loan from them. My mother was dying and we moved. For some reason, the mail wasn't being forwarded to us. My other had just died, and I got a call from OSCU stating that our payment was 30 days past due. I had no idea as it was my husbands responsibility. I offered to pay the ENTIRE BALANCE on the spot and the person told me that they did not accept payoffs over the phone, so I should send in a check. I actually offered to drive somewhere if I had to, and they told me it was unnecessary. Then, told me the 10-day pay off amount and sent me on my merry way. Not once did they tell me that I was being sent to collections, if so, I would have simply made the payment and sent in the check for the remaining balance. So then I called, and they told me to send in my credit report and an explanation. I said this doesn't make sense, why do I need to send you my credit report, can I just talk to someone? So the person in charge of putting things on my credit report told me that she could remove the late, but she wouldn't, for no other apparent reason than "it was accurate." As a Black woman, that was probably the most racist, white supremacist interaction that I have experienced this year. Your staff needs some serious DEI training about the impact of credit score on marginalized communities. I know that there have been people with white skin in a similar situation that had the late payment removed. I could understand if I was a deadbeat and never paid, but I paid the car off. My white friend when through the same thing with her bank. They just removed it. This is pretty sick. I hope that you all clean this up as I want to keep doing business with you. Where is the humanity in your business?
OSCU comes highly recommended by many friends and family. My experience so far has been trouble free. They have many branches throughout this state and are prompt with processing any charge backs
Thank you for taking the time to rate and review us, John. We appreciate it.

Horrible service! I had filed a fraud complaint weeks ago. Had to set up a new account. Got new cards for both my debit and credit. Neither worked. Find out nobody filed the fraud claim. Now Im told I have to pay for it. So unhelpful, and I feel like 500$ is being stolen from me.
For being a local credit union I find the level of personal attention is lacking. When I have questions about my account transaction order and nsf charges I am generally told it just depends on their algorithm. NSF fees are applied without discretion. $1 over and you get a fee. Two $10 charges in a day, 2 nsf fees. Inhumane
We are sorry for your disappointing experience. It sounds as though we did not clearly explain our fee structure. If you would be willing to contact us, we can provide some clarity and use your feedback to improve going forward. You can reach us at 800-732-0173. I have been a member for over a decade and they really used to be great. However, now they are just plain bad. I wish I didn't have so many accounts all tied to things with them so I could leave more easily. Expect to be on hold a minimum of 10 minutes every time you call no matter what time or branch. Also expect the call center to route you wrong about every third time you call so you get disconnected and have to call back and wait on hold again.
But not to worry the person who answers will not help or provide wrong information this has now happened to me 5, yes 5 times. Two times with wrong branches I could go to for service leading to a ton more f wasted time driving to another city, one time with the wrong wire info so a one hour drive to the neatest non partner branch later found out the call center was wrong, again. The other times were on service issues, meaning they didn't know their own fees etc.
Again not to worry though because a specialist, meaning a person who should have just answered your call as they don't seem to know very much either, will call you back at random in a day or so. Remember if you miss their call just get on hold for 10 min to request another call in 24 hours at random to find out a basic question like the fees they charge where you are planning on traveling to.
I wish this was the only negative issues I have had but in the past few years they go much further and I don't have time to explain them all. Please find anywhere else to bank if banking is important to you. I will do the same once I can get all my accounts and business payments etc sorted out.
Sad to see a once great local credit union act like a big corporate bank who doesn't care. 2 stars for the sake of what they used to be, would give them 0 if I didn't know them as the credit union I started with.
Omg this was my experience, too! Great for 20 years and then turned into B of A over the past 2-3 years! Actually, that’s unkind to B of A. At least B of A doesn’t do business with carrier pigeons and stage coaches:)

OSU Federal is a great local credit union that offers many different products and services. Their tellers are always friendly and helpful. They have no ATM fees for members, and offer ATM withdrawals of as little as $5. Their website helps keep track of monthly expenses and allows you to apply for other services directly online. They even have a very easy to use, helpful mobile app that allows you to keep track of your accounts! My favorite part though is that you can sign up for daily balance notifications via email, so you always know what is in your account without ever having to log into the site or go to an ATM.
I have had nothing but great experiences with OSU Credit Union. I recently needed to take a trip out of state to see a friend but realized there was no way i could afford it. I decided to try going to the bank to see if there was any thing they could do for me. The branch in Albany,OR took care of my problem right away and within 30 minutes I had a personal loan for $2,000 dollars transfered into my checking account. Love the great Service!!

My experience with OSU Federal Credit Union has been excellent. I've had an account with them since I was a child. On the one occasion I overdrew my account (I withdrew money too soon after depositing a check) they ended up reversing the overdraft fee after I went in and spoke with a teller. Overall, I'd recommend OSU-FCU to anyone. They have unparalleled customer service.
I opened an account with OSU Federal in 2010, and I have nothing but good things to say about them. They were recommended to me by several friends of mine and they were correct, OSU Federal is the best credit union to do business with. They don't charge me monthly like other banks would, and their customer service is fantastic. I've never had a problem with them other than accessing my account online, but I went in to the local branch and the problem was resolved immediately. I can't imagine doing business with any other bank or credit union in the future. OSU Federal will be my personal bank for the rest of my life!
This credit union has left me positive experiences. I am sad to leave this credit union. I find them no longer as convenient. I opened my account in west salem and I did that because I used to work downtown and it was easy access. I wish they would expand more north, the northest location is Woodburn. The only thing I did not like was a membership fee since most credit unions I had membership was free. I felt that this credit union was like a bank. The minimum for savings account was like $250 which is the same as the bank. There are no truly free products per se. I would only do the free checking. When I first open my account I learned that there was an early account closure fee. I was shocked since banks don't do that. If someone going to college like at OSU for one quarter I would avoid this credit union.
