Please be extremely cautious about obtaining a car loan with PCFCU. My loan was released in 2018, and it's 2025, and they still have refused to provide the title. I have called so many times with no resolution. Julie Webb finally called me back and acted as though she didn't know I had been trying to get this resolved. She then referred me to Nelson Weston, the attorney who represents the bank, instead of getting the information and providing it. Another stall tactic. When I called her out on it, she said, "I guess I can call him and get that information." Yes! Why send me on a wild goose chase? Absolutely absurd! This is after calling her literally every day for three weeks after being given her name. Monica Reeves never called me back or acknowledged my calls. Myasia Tips and Ashley (or Angel) were taking my calls and trying to help, but their hands were tied. This bank is unreliable, and that is a terrible reputation for someone holding your money—no matter how much you have.

Over the past couple of months, this bank has allowed my payment to remain in a pending status until the due date. Then they charge me interest as if it was paid on the last day. Additionally, they switched my statements to e-statements without my permission. On another occasion, they returned our payment to our bank and sent us a "Did you remember?" notice. I'm not sure who is in charge over there, but I can certainly foresee a class action lawsuit coming if this is happening to other customers.

Appreciate that their checking doesn't require a minimum balance and doesn't charge any maintenance or other monthly fees, no matter how much money I have or how much I use it. I tell everyone to go to Palmetto Citizens!

the worst bank I have EVER been with. I’ve lived in several states across the US and have banked with Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and M&T. I have been banking since I was 16 years old (now 28) and have NEVER dealt with overdraft issues. Within a month of banking with Palmetto I was charged over $200 when I had sufficient funding. Any representative I talked to in person or over the phone was rude and could not explain the charges accurately. It wasn’t until I found more reviews like this that I knew it was a common issue. After the first month I kept the balance negative and let them close the account out, then shredded my card. I was also given a direct deposit form with SOMEONE ELSE’S routing and account number on it when I signed up! DO NOT BANK WITH PALMETTO IF YOU VALUE YOUR FINANCES, PRIVACY AND PEACE OF MIBD.

This is the worst bank i have ever used. They charged an overdraft fee when I had money in the bank and then refused to reimburse me for their mistake. I’ve been charged double more than once because of a glitch in their system. Not only has this bank effected my financial life multiple times one of their bank tellers met my husband, through banking, and they started an affair. Myself and a few of my family members have been members with this bank for years and never had a problem up until last year. Not sure what changed but I will be closing all my accounts and taking my business elsewhere. I do not see this bank staying open for another 25 years if this is how they handle business. Also u will be cancelling my company account as well.

This is the worst bank I’ve ever been apart of, granted i haven’t been with many. I came from Bank of America, the reason for the transfer was simple: my sister was with this bank, WAS. She would tell me how she really liked the bank because of the money saving and CD plans, but would often complain about ooverdrafts. In my mind, I just thought perhaps she wasn’t smart with her money (which she is known for) and thought to give palmetto a try, to take advantage of the savings and CD plans she often spoke about. During my 6 years with Bank of America, I only overdrated a total of about 3 times. And it usually happened during a night when I’d be out and about, had had too much to drink, and would continuously swipe my card out of incoheritance. I had been with palmetto citizens for 5 MONTHS and overdrafted a total of 15 Times. The first time I overdrafted, I thought, well maybe it was my fault, I’ll let it slide. The second time, I thought the same, the third time I thought this is getting ridiculous and made my way down to the same bank that I initially signed up at. The bank manager looked over my profile from her computer, and literally COULD NOT find where I had overdrafted at and how i had accumulated my overdraft fees. She even went as far as to call someone with a lesser title into the office to try to help her figure it out. Once neither one of them could figure it out (after counting the spent money on a calculator multiple times) she simply gave up, apologized, and refunded me the overdraft amount. The next week, it happened again. I went back down to the same bank, this time, while the manager was nice, she didn’t refund the overdraft amount. She did try to investigate by asking me questions to try and figure out where I was going wrong. I told her that I was just as confused as she was and that i was keeping track of the money that I was spending via the palmetto citizens app, but that somehow, I was still managing to overdraft each week. “Ohhh. That’s why” she finally said to me as if she’d had a bright idea. “You can’t go by the app. You see, the app isn’t always truthful. We give merchants a few days to get their money from you. If they don’t get the money within the allowed amount of days, the transaction disappears from your banking app. You won’t see it, and there will be absolutely no proof you ever even spent that money, unless you remember exactly where and when you spent it.” “So basically you guys lie to your customers by hiding transactions from the app? Hoping that they’ll forget about the money they spent and then re-spend it, because ‘out of sight, out of mind’?” I responded. She looked as if she wanted to say yes, but knew that she’d probably shouldn’t have. Instead she gave me some excuse about it not being the banks fault, and that I should write down all of my transactions to avoid this from happening in the future. I agreed and left, but in the back of my mind, I couldn’t shake the fact that I shouldn’t have to write down all of my transactions, because I didn’t have to do that with Bank of America. With B.O.A, I relied on my banking app to help me remember the amount of money I spent, because let’s face it, its 2018, and most of us rely on technology to get us through. The Bank of America banking app never lied or hid transactions from me, hoping that i would forget about them and then spent that money again to overdraft. It was always upfront and honest with what I spent and when. Well anyway. I came up with the plan that I was going to go and withdraw all of my spendings every time I got paid, to avoid overdrafting, but that soon got old (though it was effective, I didn’t have to do that with Bank of America) finally, I just said I was going to let things go back to normal and leave my money in my account instead of withdrawing it. I remember calling the palmetto citizens customer service line, because some of my transactions had once again disappeared from the app, and i wanted to ask one of the girls if she had seen a possibility of me overdrafting, she wouldn’t give me an answer, and told me she couldn’t tell me about any of my transactions unless i called it by name (they WANT you to overdraft) The same week I did that, let things go back to “normal”, I overdrafted again. Finally I was at work oneday, and I was complaining about my bank to my boss and how I hadn’t overdrafted a lot since joining. He asked what bank I was with, and when I told him, his eyes lit up like the Fourth of July. “Ah man, I used to work for the customer service line of that bank. They’re pulling the wool over your eyes.” He then went on to tell me about how when he worked there, they were basically trained to ensure that you overdraft, because they know that many people rely on technology to get them through, and that’s why the company makes the transactions disappear from the app, so that you’ll forget about them. He then told me that they referred to Tuesday’s as “Overdraft Day” because that was when all of the hidden transactions popped up and took all of your money. He then told me, “if you want an honestly bank, go back to Bank Of America.” Me and my sister both left, haven’t had any problems since.

While other banks will work with you concerning overdrafts, Palmetto Citizens will work with you begrudgingly. If a business charges you twice, or unknowingly...or even wrongfully, and it results in overdraft fees, then you have to get a letter from that business stating that they will not pay for the fees. After the letter is received by Palmetto Federal Credit Union..which drags the situation out for say another week or two.. they will review your account and decide whether they will refund the overdrafts to you ..or not. Quite simply, while the charges certainly aren't your fault, it isn't their fault either.. and they really don't want to refund your money. I guess a nonprofit organization has to make it's money somehow. In this case, they are no better than say... Bank of America!

We began a relationship with Palmetto Citizens because my wife's generous grandmother offered to give our kids money, and as she had a long history with Palmetto Citizen's, she wanted to set up the accounts there. The staff was and is extremely courteous and helpful. Unlike with our primary credit union, the branch was well staffed, and everyone seemed to be a buzz with activity. We're strongly considering moving all our business to Palmetto Citizens. Oh, and yea, their rates were much better than our current FCU.

I have been a member of Palmetto Citizens for years now. It is super easy to set up an account with them and even though I have moved to another state I have kept my account. I have also found that if I call with an issue the person I speak to is always willing to help me find answers, even if they need to find another person to do so. I only had one small issue with them when I needed to get a letter to send to the London Embassy for immigration purposes and the first person I spoke with claimed they would not do so. This was potentially a huge issue because the letter was required. Thankfully after speaking with someone else I was able to find someone helpful who said she'd be more than happy to send it and did so promptly.

After years of not having any kind of bank account for a number of reasons, I decided to see about getting one with these guys. They were so nice from the beginning. It was easy to open an account too, all you need is $25 to put in a savings account and a no fee checking account automatically comes with it (as long as you always keep $25 in savings, your account is free and open). No matter which branch I go to, the staff is always very helpful and friendly. Another great feature is the coin collector - I was able to turn in all my lose change for no fee and deposit right into my account or take the cash. Needless to say, I'm not going back to a regular bank any time soon. These folks are AWESOME.

This credit union I truly love. I have moved out of state now, however I never left them. They are very honest and straightforward about how to fix problems. I remember when I had fraud on my account I went into a local branch and they handed it very quickly and had my money back fast. Although I wish they gave temporary cards out so when they cancel your card for fraud you still have one to use, but overall I have no complaints. I use my card out of state no problems they have never blocked it or anything like that. I will stick with this Credit Union!

I opened my checking account with Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union about 2 years ago. Since then I have also opened a savings account as well. I was very happy with the politeness of the employees. They are very friendly and helpful. In fact they know by name when I walk in. I have enjoyed the ease of being a customer of this bank with no hassles. I even came in one day needing some help with balancing my checkbook. I was greeted and they took the time to help me figure out my checkbook. I do not even have to pay a monthly fee to bank with them. I am very pleased.

Palmetto Citizens is an awesome bank! It is fast and easy to set up a new account and the representatives are extremely friendly and helpful. I called my account representative directly about any questions I had and she always returned my calls quickly and was eager to help me. Their customer service line is also very friendly. I am normally connected to a representative immediately. They also have very low fees and loan rates. Recently, their website was completely re-done and updated. It is very easy to use, transfer money, and offers a way to categorize your expenses to create or manage a budget. I also have their Android app installed on my phone and I love it! I have banked at many other institutions and have never been as pleased as I am with Palmetto Citizens.
