Thread: Writing the symbol for Degree Celsius using the text tool

Hi there!

How do I go about writing the symbol for Degree Celsius using the text tool.

So instead of writing Degree Celsius, i want to insert the symbol instead which is the tiny empty circle followed by a C.

I have no idea how to get that tiny circle to display.

With NumLock activated and while holding down the Alt key, type 167 on the numeric keypad.

Using the Numeric keypad:

ALT+0176 = °
or
ALT+248= °

For any character, or if you don't have a numeric pad, use charmap. This is most easily accessed through the search box below the windows menu.

I know this is not correct but quick way is to hit "superscript" which is enough for most people.

Oops, sledger is right, I was too quick. My key combo gives º, while you asked for °.

Get an AZERTY keyboard - the symbol is right there under the F11 key
