Job Description

Robert Half is currently working with a client looking for a Purchasing Agent. Responsibilities of the successful candidate include collaborating and negotiating with suppliers to purchase goods and services for the company. As the Purchasing Agent you will be processing purchase orders, in addition to locating suppliers and researching goods, services and materials. This is the position for you if you are a highly analytical and deadline oriented professional!


Major responsibilities:


  • Ensure all departments have appropriate inventory levels
  • Maintain a high level of customer service skills while working with vendors and suppliers
  • Help with any additional duties of the purchasing department
  • Ensure that received orders have all necessary information
  • Identify best options for suppliers, goods, and services
  • Perform data entry of purchase orders daily

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Skilled in CRM, ERP, and inventory management software programs
  • Prior experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position
  • Strong documentation and organization skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
