I have been a loyal banking customer at Seacoast for over 20 years. So, when I sold my beach house, I had the funds wired to my account there. Not wanting to let it sit and not earn any money, I mentioned to the tellers, John and Ethan, that the closing on my beach house would be happening and the funds would be coming in. The manager assured me that my funds would be safe and earn 4.65%. The bank had a good rating and I didn't have to worry about it being over the $250,000 that the FDIC insured. I was quite busy and was pleased to hear there was nothing I had to do to secure that rate.
I was at the bank before the closing, the day of the closing, and the next day when the funds arrived. The closing was on July 31st and the funds came in on August 1st. However, that was not what happened. The manager did not tell the truth. When I came into the bank 22 days later, I found out that my money was making less than 0.5%. I learned that they loan out at around 8% or more. I was not happy.
Ethan then opened another account, assuring me this would fix the problem. However, the interest lost due to management's oversight, which did not ensure the money was sent to a money market account instead of a checking account, was substantial. I felt that they purposely took advantage of the situation. Never let your guard down with bankers; they look for opportunities to deceive you.
I am now shopping for a reliable and honest bank. I realize Seacoast is not that bank, and I will be closing my account. Not only me, but my family as well. They might have gained a little, but they have lost a lot in future business.

Absolute worst bank I've ever been with. Horrible service, shady practices, and upon closing my account, I was forced to either give them the remaining balance or go into a branch to collect it. Just all around horrible. Do not make the same mistake I did!

I used to think Seacoast had great customer service until yesterday. I was contacted by their fraud department regarding a couple of suspicious charges made on my debit card. I confirmed that the charges absolutely were not made by me, yet they still posted the charges to my account. I was told I would have to contact their disputes department and file disputes of the charges, even though they contacted me about them. I contacted the disputes department and was told it could take up to 21 business days for a resolution. Also, when I called customer service about getting a new debit card, I was told it would take 7-10 business days to receive my new card. I asked if I could get the card expedited and was told, "Sure, you can," for $120. So now I am without a debit card and have almost $500 in fraudulent charges sitting in my account. On top of all the frustration I had to deal with, the lady who called from their fraud department was extremely rude. I am seriously considering changing banks after being a customer of Seacoast for several years.

I cannot believe Seacoast Bank is doing this to me. I made a payment of $11,720 to my mortgage company through my online banking, and they sent a check. The check never made it to my mortgage company. Now, I have to put a stop payment on the check and wait almost 10 days to get my money back. This was their fault. I am done with Seacoast Bank, despite having been a customer with them for years. There's no reason for me to wait 10 days to get my money back and to reissue another check to my mortgage company.

Absolutely the worst online banking software!!!! Very unfriendly and have had to call bank to be able to look at my online payees because they would not show up under online activity. Needed to change some amounts in recurring payments and was impossible to do online and needed to call bank. I have USAA banking and just about everything can be accomplished online and very quickly.

The local branches and the corporate office do not communicate with each other. I was scammed out $1500 and it took them over 2 months to resolve and just recently, the corporate office closed my account because of a small negative balance the same day that the branch told me everything was okay. Now, I have to go deal with my direct deposit being in limbo because of this.

Horrendous. Cannot explain how bad in a short summary. As a business owner I chose Freedom Bank due to the local feel and local underwriting. I was very very happy. When Freedom was bought by Seacoast everything changed. Our accounts (all in good standing) went from good standing to predatory lending by Seacoast. They appear to be hurting for money and seizing funds wherever they can despite a 100% perfect payment history. If you're a fellow business owner, I implore you to take your business elsewhere. Even the simplest means of communication are mishandled and I have to constantly keep an eye on what they're doing so I don't get screwed by them even more. Caveat emptor.

My online bill pay payee entry form does not work as designed; that is, I cannot add data to certain fields. My Seacoast local bank told me to contact customer support. Seacoast customer support told me to call my local bank. No one will help me. Before I can close my Seacoast account, I will need some time to transfer my direct deposits from government accounts and from private businesses. In the meantime, I do not feel confident using Seacoast online bill pay. I will continue to use the online bill pay with my other bank, which works as designed.

worst experience i’ve ever had with a bank. they make everything 10x more difficult than it needs to be and it’s a horrible experience everytime i have to do anything with them. i had $3 in my account for a few days and out of nowhere they charged me a maintenance fee of $10(that i was never made aware of) and since i never made any transactions i didn’t check my account balance and so they charged me an overdraft fee of $5 every single day for like a week. absolutely ridiculous

I have been a business checking customer of BankFirst and its successor Sera last Bank for 17 years. Several years ago I availed myself of the mobile deposit feature. Never a problem until two months ago. All of a sudden my deposits were frequently not accepted. I am a one member LLC. My clients would pay my invoices either Naming my LLC or my name. Never a problem. All of a sudden I am being denied deposit unless the check was in the name of my LLC. That's about 50% of the time and I make about 50 deposits per month. I could have tolerated if there was a Seacoast Branch where I live but the nearest branch is 70 miles away. So I was being forced to contact the Branch where I opened the account 17 years ago and and had the Branch Manager clear my checks or send the checks back to my clients and ask them to reissue. I understand their heightened security measures but I went to a local competitor who will accept either my LLC or me personally on the check. Don't know why they could not accommodate me but suffice to say I moved on.

Stopped by a booth at a boat show and the person at the booth gave me a card. Worked with Charles Beres. Charles was very rude and unprofessional. Charles spoke over me multiple times and suggested that I was falsely stating income. Charles knew nothing of the loans that were discussed at the booth at the boat show and had to verify programs offered by the bank, that he later confirmed were available. Charles is unprepared and does not know about his own department's products. I do not recommend this lender.

Chip cards are also called EMV cards. Using a chip instead of just a magnetic strip in credit cards is more secure and offers much better fraud protection.
In the last few years chip cards gained a lot of popularity nationwide. Many of the major issuers already shifted to using this technology. There...
