I know everyone is busy with their schedule, so going to a bank to prepay or repay a loan can be a tedious task.  Thankfully, SBI allows its loan customers to repay or prepay the loan amount through online banking via NEFT Transfer. Presently, you can make SBI home loan payment online only if you have an Online SBI Account (SBI Net Banking). Let me tell you how to pay SBI home loan EMI online: Step 1: Link State Bank of India Loan Account to Savings Account Add your loan account as a 3rd party account for making the NEFT payment later. After that, you will see the account as one of the newly added accounts.
  • Log in to the SBI’s online portal.
  • Tap on the Profile Tab on the dashboard
  • Tap on the Manage Beneficiary Link
  • Fill in your Profile Password
  • Tap on the “Inter-Bank Beneficiary” link
  • Fill in details like Inter-Bank Transfer Limit, Address, Account Number, Payee Name, etc.
  • Fill in the IFSC Code
  • Tap on “Submit”

I recently received a home loan from State Bank of India (SBI) to purchase a three-bedroom flat. I looked for a way how to pay SBI home loan EMI online from other bank because my SBI account had a limited amount of money. However, I discovered that banks prefer to get EMIs paid only from the primary account. Then, in order to pay my EMI on time, I transferred the necessary sum from my father's account to my SBI account. Let's look at the steps I took to quickly pay my EMI.

How to pay SBI home loan online?

Sanjana and Jagan Reddy have already described the process to pay down the EMI via online mode. However, I used to pay EMI for my home loan via the BHIM SBI Pay app. I have shared the process below:
  • Download and install the BHIM SBI Pay app from the Google PlayStore.
  • Open the app and tap the customer button.
  • Now, log in with the 6 digit app PIN.
  • Tap the Pay button.
  • Enter the loan account number or choose a payment type like VPA.
  • Mention other necessary information, such as the EMI amount in the respective field. Make sure you submit the right details to prevent any payment inconsistencies. 
  • Choose the SBI account under the Pay From section.
  • To continue, tick the checkbox.
  • Input the OTP to allow the transaction.
  • Finally, complete the payment by clicking on the tick icon.
The payment will be executed after the OTP has been properly validated, and you will get a confirmation message. It is advised to save this confirmation for your records. Hi, paying home loan EMIs on time is very important as it helps you maintain a good reputation with the bank. Last year, my uncle took out a home loan from SBI and was having trouble paying the EMIs on time. So, I suggested he go for SBI housing loan online payment and set it up for autopay. He wasn’t sure about this option so I showed him a few other methods to pay EMIs.
