The phone number to call to make CC payments keeps you on hold for 20-40 minutes. When you do finally speak to someone they're all poorly spoken, poorly trained, poorly skilled people. Mostly local to that area and it shows. Even the people in the branch are pretty slow and not helpful at all. I spent 4 hours today trying to make a payment. No luck and lies from the people answering the phones. Awful...if I ran my business that way I would be out of business. I will find a card to transfer balance to asap. I have had enough. Thank God for Bank of America. DO NOT GET INVOLVED HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not for retirees! They refuse to reverse bank charges even when its a bank error! It's a downward spiral. This is outrageous!!!!! I work with out of state retirees and one client has been recently released from the hospital, his bills won't get paid, including rent, because of a paperless fee SJFCU has charged and agreed to reverse but refuses to reverse all the other fees that this generated. Hopefully there will be funds remaining for groceries. Shame on you SJFCU!

WARNING..... I have been a SJFCU member for 30+ years. My Card expired 8/2018 - When my new Credit card didn't come in the mail I was concerned and call Customer Service. They told me that at the end of each card issue when it expires they have the right to NOT renew my card. They said I had 3 Late payments in the past Year. With NO Warning, my CC is CLOSED. Are you kidding me??? I have run up the card and paid it off, and used it again and paid it off over the years..... I am SHOCKED to be treated this way after 30 + years!!. You are playing with peoples lives! Now my credit JUST took a big HIT as I lost the longest opened account I had. My score dropped 25 points just today!!! This made me CRY!! No Warning....was sent - How about: (Hey, you've been late a few times, if you continue may not renew your card and CLOSE your account! ) (They shut down my Checking account I had for 30+ years... See Other Review posted on that) THIS IS SERIOUS, HOW CAN YOU JUST DO THAT???!!!

Beware... I have been a customer of over 30 Years, since i was in my early 20's. I have always been satisfied and was proud to have an account for so long. However, without notice they turned off the POS ability on my Debit card - I was having random declines and when I called they said it was fine, no issues. This did continue and when I called again they said they turned it off, as my account went in the negative. Now - I never went negative before, NEVER, this is ONE TIME - because I normally have sufficient funds in my Savings account to pull over, which is a great feature to have them connected. I was so upset I spoke with a manager, they said since I opted out of something.... in 2005... and went negative, and POS is permanently removed from my account. I CRIED. The manager said he would speak with "that" department to see what they can do. 2 Days later, I was notified that there is NOTHING they can DO and my account will NOT be activated with POS ability - My Debit card IS NOW ONLY a ATM CARD!! WHAT?? This is unbelievable.. My 30+ years means NOTHING..........

Very Bad ! Dont go here! We just reported them to the Dept of Banking and the local media for their significant ethics and regulation violations . ATTENTION: BE WARNED GET OUT NOW AND FOR POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS : DONT GO HERE!

South Jersey Federal Credit Union has such poor service! My experience has been that over the past 5 years or so, the customer service has declined greatly. There is no personal touch anymore. Whenever I call them I am on hold for 10 to 20 minutes before you get to speak to a human. Once you do get someone on the phone they can't help you. They will have someone call you back! .....But no one ever calls back. They are also always finding ways to charge additional fees to your account, etc.... I miss the old credit union with people that were kind, competent and didn't mind doing a little work. So sad.....

i have bank with south jersey credit union since 2010 and i have had my wallet lost and credit cards stolen this past august 2015 and they where quick about replacing my visa cards as wells as any fraud charges reimburse .I also use there mobile app to transfer funds from my savings into my checking. I appreciate the face to face customer service resolving conflicts with my account, my direct deposit is always there two days ahead of my colleagues at my job for some reason ,i am always traveling outside the untied states and do rack up the foreign transaction fee but there is no monthly maintenance fees i rather bank with my sjfcu i feel my money is safe here.

South Jersey Federal Credit Union has no minimum balance due, no monthly fees, and you even earn a small percentage of interest. Although there are few branches, you do have access to ATMs. You can manage your account online and pay your bills using your South Jersey Federal Credit Union account. They offer savings accounts, checking accounts, and loans (at low rates). They also offer a comprehensive website which contains charts on the types of accounts, the rates and the APY making it easy to read and understand.

I began using this credit union through work using them for a savings account only. After using them for a year and wanting to switch from my (td) bank (where my checking's was located) threatening to require minimums on my checking accounts and hitting me with unnecessary fees, I switched everything to this bank. I think it is great. Not many locations, but worth the switch. I even recently got a mortgage with their help and it was a great experience. Customer service is always great and have never had one issue.

bayecmd I love this credit one the best in my area. ATMs are everywhere, check card works everywhere, everything just works. If you can, keep enough in checking and savings to avoid monthly fees. Interest on savings is low - so put most of your savings elsewhere. Free atm fees so you don't have worry about getting charge a fee. staff is great when you might have a problem or question. customer service is prompt and easy couldnt be better

They are OK. I have never had a problem with South Jersey Federal Credit Union. Their rates aren't the best, but neither are the banks'. I pulled some money out to put into a Barclay's US savings account (1% no minimum). I will however gladly keep my account funded and open at SJFCU. They have always been nice, and are mostly convenient in terms of hours and locations. Again, may be a little less desirable than some banks, but I wouldn't switch unless I could get a free account with higher interest rate somewhere else local. Employees are very accommodating as well and know how to help you out.

We have belonged to South Jersey Federal Credit Union for many years and have always been, and still are satisfied customers. Every employee we have encountered has been professional and helpful, regardless of the issue. I have never had a problem that hasn't been resolved to my liking. The staff goes out of their way to ensure your needs are met and you feel like a valued customer. You get much better service than going with a “major chain" bank, especially those offered in this area. The website is adequate, although a bit outdated. SJFCU provides personal service that you aren't going to get with just any bank!

No complaints here. SJFCU has handled most of our families accounts for the last 2 years or so. Ever since our mainstream banks decided to throw fees on us, I don’t see why I would have ever stayed with them. They are generally very nice and friendly in the office at SJFCU and it sure beats having to pay a crazy $15-25 a month to LET someone borrow my money – cough* TD Bank* BAC * couch--. I have to say though that the website could use some improvements. It just doesn’t flow like come bank websites do. Kind of looks like something from the early 2000’s. Otherwise I’ve been happy with their services.

Quality credit union. I have banked with them for a little over a year now and have never had any issues. For this region they provide quality banking and excellent service. I have been a member of a few other local credit unions and they couldn't offer the interest that South Jersey Federal Credit Union was willing to offer me. They also made me feel safe about where my money was and allowing me access to it. I've been a member of a few credit unions where removing funds ended up being such a hassle but I have never had that experience with South Jersey.
