Overall, I feel that the University of Michigan - Dearborn has been a lucrative experience. The environment enriches students by encouraging them to participate in numerous leadership opportunities, community service, as well as honorary academic opportunities. Students can apply classroom learning to real-life experiences such as internships, student organizations, and jobs. I like that University of Michigan - Dearborn encourages its students to become well-rounded individuals and leaders in and outside the classrooms. What I would like to see change is the increase in student engagement within their first year. I feel that students will have better opportunities to enjoy the benefits of the university if they start engaging in campus functions early within their freshman year.
As a college junior majoring in political science at the University of Michigan Dearborn, I have found the experience to be both enriching and intellectually stimulating. The faculty in the political science department are highly knowledgeable and passionate about their fields, providing engaging lectures and fostering insightful discussions. The curriculum offers a diverse range of courses, allowing students to explore various aspects of political theory, comparative politics, and international relations.

My experience at the University of Michigan-Dearborn has been incredibly enriching. The supportive and inclusive environment fostered a sense of belonging, while smaller class sizes allowed for meaningful interactions with professors. Exploring nearby historical landmarks like Greenfield Village added depth to my education, and the Rouge River Gateway Trail provided a peaceful escape. While my overall experience was positive, I believe the university could improve by investing more in mental health and academic resources such as more accessible tutoring and homework assistance.
